Yep looks bad, I'm sure a tory bullhorn bullshitter will be along to debunk it |

It's damning that a high-ranking UK diplomat in charge of Brexit at the British embassy in the US resigned and said the following: "I am also at a stage in life where I would prefer to do something more rewarding with my time, than peddle half-truths on behalf of a government I do not trust."

And saying "I have been increasingly dismayed by the way in which our political leaders have tried to deliver Brexit, with reluctance to address honestly, even with our own citizens, the challenges and trade-offs which Brexit involves.". |

She also said "It makes our job to promote democracy and the rule of law that much harder, if we are not seen to be upholding these core values at home." |

Yep.... people with principles can be hard to find. Many labour MPs are actually similarly principled with dozens resigning from the front bench, resigning from the party , resigning from politics or defecting to the Lib Dem’s . Why would that be ?... hmmm? |

I was wondering how anybody would defend the damning words of a career diplomat. Should have guessed it'd be by deflection. |

Well, she didn't miss and hit the wall. Sadly, 17.4M of our citizens don't give a shit. They're like Trump's base; or Hitler's, come to that. Blind devotion to the guy who makes them feel valued - no matter how much of an utter cunt he is.
They're a minority, to be sure; but the FPTP electoral system means the party they support can have political power - even if most voters don't assent to it.
It's fucked up - and it's going to get worse. |

The tactic you used is called whataboutism. It was most associated with the tactics used in Soviet and Russian propaganda. Here's how it works. Instead of addressing the issue, you say eg "what about this...?". I thought you might find that interesting. |

"Look it up. Her name's Alexandra Hall. For a diplomat to take that step, it's astonishing." Hi. I do not think many people have either heard of her or care about what she has to say. She is simply a civil servant. On a simplistic basis it means one job vacancy.

I gave her name and quotes. People can look her up for themselves or not as they choose. It's astonishing for a high-ranked diplomat to resign in such a way and say such things. |

Similar to the damning evidence of US career diplomats giving evidence before Congress.
When unprincipled villains and total scumbags are confronted by truth and decency..... but their base doesn't care and still votes for them.
Troubling times.
Hopefully Scotland will vote to escape from the westminster shitstorm. |

You're probably right, not many people will of heard of her if any and leave voters will not care as to what she has to say because it's the truth about the Brexit lies leavers have been gobbling up from the trough of Farage & Johnson and they don't like anyone who actually knows what the fuck their talking about daring to expose how badly 17.4 million people have been taken for a ride on the Brexit looney bus |

Ok well it doesn’t surprise me someone has resigned from a job whose ultimate boss is Boris Johnson. He’s a total buffoon. ( incidentally I’m a firm remainer despite what you may think ). I personally could not work for either of the 2 fuckwits we have to choose from |

Most people have heard of Boris Johnson.
He's been sacked by his employers for lying.
I wouldn't hire someone with that record, but you would.

Minds are set now. Expert opinion doesn't matter. Reality doesn't matter.
They haven't been commenting on this sort of thing for ages because they can't defend the indefensible, other than Pat who's in his own universe.

I prefer to judge on results , not the opinion of a salaried civil servant who is not spending their own money.
A drill down of the companies in the FTSE is more than good enough for.
The 18 % jump in the share price of Dunelm on Thursday shows we have nothing to fear as does the performance of AB Dynamics.
Let the good times roll. |

Wait a minute....the run on investors deposits M&G properties are experiencing has forced them to stop trading to try and buy some time to sell off their assets and raise cash. A direct product of Brexit uncertainty as the large pension funds withdraw their investments because of market fears about the result of the general election and the failure of the tory governments to tackle the taxation of online companies in turn leading to the collapse of the high street. Doesnt sound like good times to me. I hope you have a good pension product - investing in armaments and drug companies would probably suit you |

So Boris Johnson qualifies in that he has achieved being PM of the UK and has helped many people (namely the redicilously rich becoming even richer at the expense of the poor). He must be a great guy. |

What matters is the performance of the FTSE 350 and the various funds that have invested in it.
You can hardly blame the government for failing to impose extra taxes on online companies. Like it or not , on line shopping ie what a lot of people want.
The only cloud on the horizon is the possibility of a Labour Government which would simply destroy the economy.

Silly man " Hi . The rise in the share price of Dunelm may be meaningless to you but I do not see many pension funds who have invested in it seeing the rise as being meaningless. Dunelm have adopted to changing times and other retailers are doing the same. I prefer to be inspired by those who are successfull as opposed to those who constantly take a negative stance.

I hope you have a good pension product - investing in armaments and drug companies would probably suit you Hi I do not think too many people will be too concerned about one fund with short term liquidity issues .
The good times are about to begin.
Then the share price of Dunelm Mill going up is meaningless too.
The FTSE350 isn't going anywhere.
You can blame the government for not collecting taxes from online sales and not reducing the tax burden on physical stores to allow fair competition.
Silly man Hi .
On Friday we will know where we are going. We have two choices . Economic success or economic ruin.
I personally have done all I can to see that it is economic success and am sending another donation to night to help fund the party which has an unconditional commitment to give everyone in the UK a brighter future.
Let the good times begin. Friday morning will be the moment of truth.
Oh Pat. You specifically quoted the Dunelm Mill share price as proof of prosperity in another thread.
Do keep up
We have been under a Tory led government for over a decade.
The good times are only going to begin if they are in power for a third term? "
I've posted a few times when Pats said things can only get better then I've pointed out the Tories have been in power for near 10 years already so how does that figure but he never replies from what I've seen.
Just someone who's only got soundbites and no substance |

Yes, damning that she ever took the job. I can't see why anyone else would give them a job.

You could use the same argument and say "if Jeremy Corbyn is a terrorist why hasn't he been locked up?" |

"Look it up. Her name's Alexandra Hall. For a diplomat to take that step, it's astonishing.

They haven't been commenting on this sort of thing for ages because they can't defend the indefensible, other than Pat who's in his own universe.

A drill down of the companies in the FTSE is more than good enough for.

M&G are the largest commercial property owners in the country so the implications of their collapse are rather more important than your dismissal of facts would suggest. You really should try reading and analysing information from a wider variety of sources and then perhaps your posts might be more credible as the standard of what you have been spouting quite frankly makes you look a bit odd and rather silly. I hope that helps |

Short term liquidity problem is not really a good enough response Pat. Your dismissal of a serious issue with the largest commercial property portfolio in the country is quite cavalier. If you had looked a little deeper you might have seen this is due to the Prudential (one of the largest pension funds in the country) withdrawing their funds and does not suggest to me that all is well in the world. This is directly attributable to Brexit and the financial stagnation people like you have brought upon our land. I hope you think it’s worth it. |
