Predict tonight's Johnson/Corbyn debate

Johnson will lie, waffle and spout catchphrases like "get Brexit done". He'll repeat claims about 40 new hospitals despite the fact they've been utterly debunked. He'll also rant that Corbyn is an antisemite despite the fact the man has never said a single antisemitic thing (as far as I can tell). He'll ignore his own blatantly racist, sexist, classist and homophobic comments which he made on the record. He'll ignore the fact the Brexit process has been a trainwreck, and that the Tories have had 3 years to sort it out. Instead he'll wave the flag and claim, counter to all evidence, they're the party to sort it out. Oh and he'll ignore the fact his party have brought the NHS to its knees, hugely increased poverty, homelessness and wealth inequality. What else? He'll try and blame Labour for things despite the fact the Tories have been in power for 9 and a bit years.

"would sooner pull my own toe nails out than watch that crap, sooner we get to next Friday the better"

I guess it might be easier to ignore Johnson's lies and incompetence by not listening to him.

Boris will attempt to be a politician for the first 10 minutes, then forget he's on national TV and revert to one syllable words for the rest of the debate. He'll poke fun, be a clown, admit he's a bifta smoking toff, if it means he can get away from the question and onto either Schools,Police, NHS or Brexit.

Corbyn will be the ever faithful old dog that sits quietly with its chin up looking stout but thick af. Ask it a question and it doesn't know what to do, so it'll go off and find the nearest thing it can find and bring to you looking a bit wobbly, that being, policy you never asked for but has to tell the wider public (not the audience) about.

You're probably right that it's a waste of time. People seem to have already made up their minds.

Boris johnstones very first paragraph was "get brexit done" "50,000 more nurses" (which has already been proven as a lie), "20,000 more police" another lie.

All within his first few sentences.

"I am watching it and corbyn comes out very well, he want to unite while boris want to separate and is saying the same slogans and the fantasies lol "

I just watched it and went into a mild Bruce Lee manoeuvre every time he spoke as he didn't answer any fucking question, just rattled off shit, then said one or or two things relating to the question, then rattled off more shit.

Heathrowish

Will it significantly change the intentions of enough voters to make a difference?

Not sure that it will.

Corbyn v Johnson. The modern equivalent of Charlie Cairoli v Laci Endresz

Just lies from Johnson. Slurs against anyone but no genuine admission of the damage he has caused and would cause to anyone. Corbyn will earnestly want to understand others and help them, explaining why and how he would. No lies from him. It wouldn't take a genius to work out who the decent one of the two is.

I should have played a drinking game, taking a shot whenever Johnson said "get Brexit done."

Hi. I see enough in the news and other sources without wanting to waste too much of my life watching politicians debate issues on tv in an attempt to score cheap points.

All the information that I need to made a decision is available in the parties manifesto.

I was speaking about Corbyn. There was no bringing together as he gave no answeres. If he was there for public scrutiny, then he was self serving. Boris at least answered directly when he did (said begrudgingly).

What I saw from JC was a question posed, then a speech on what was wrong with the system, when the question was 'what would you do' or 'what are your plans'. He would then possibly give one maybe two examples mid sentence but would totally confuse the question. Replay it if you can be bothered.

JC dodges any details of what they will do, whilst telling everyone how great they are but how shit life is.

I think my prediction about Johnson at the start of the thread ended up being depressingly accurate.

In 2022 VAT will come off tampons anyway. Hardly a selling point for voting Tory.
