Full fact have got a checklist for false news.
Search "fullfact toolkit".
I think the Conservative have ticked them off.
I don't expect half the posters on here to bother because they jus don't actually care, but for anyone else, there you have it. |

"Many people believe lies, but they won't believe facts. We are living in strange and disturbing times...
I blame man made climate change, which is definitely real because the BBC told me. "
You make such coherent arguments against man-made climate change.
Especially those YouTube clips from "people" .
There are lots of sources that support the conclusions on climate change including automotive companies, the aviation industry and the oil industry.
Who's responsible for this conspiracy? |

Why not ask Jeremy Corbyn's brother? Piers. After all he's actually in a position to educate you. or would you rather believe mass media? |

Remember I work for Aerospace. I talk to the scientists who collect that data. They say that the climate changes are being understated and that there is no doubt whatsoever that the effects are man made. But what does a scientist with multiple PhDs know of these things? Pffft!
With you on that one.
Remember the 'scientific study' that showed breakfast was the most important meal of the day? Sponsored by Kellogg's.
Remember those studies that stated that smoking cigarettes was actually good for you? Sponsored by big tobacco.

John McDonnell caught out, saying the average household is £6,000 a year worse off every year since 2010.
Apparently, according to Labour, every household has 2 rail season ticket holders, a 2 year old in childcare, and the house is rented.
And their figures have not been adjusted for inflation.
That's a massive £1 TRILLION lie.
And fact checked by the BBC, of all places...

Or skip the mass media and Corbyns mad brother. And go directly the the published scientific articles. There is complete scientific consensus.
Learn. Understand. And then stop believing in conspiracy theories published by the fossil fuel industry. |

Okay. Let's try to get this over once more. I do not "believe" anything to do with scientific method and science based knowledge. I understand (the climate part), and when you have knowledge and understanding, belief isn't required.
Belief and faith is what you have in the absence of knowledge and understanding.
So you believe that science isn't real. That's fine. The only way to cure ignorance on a given subject is to learn about it. You have chosen not to learn about it. Also fine. But then you all out attack people who have do have some understanding.

I can’t believe we are in an era where everything that comes out of our PMs mouth is a lie and we have people who lap it up!!!
What has happened with our society when we can allow this to happen. Dark times in British politics
There is really no party I want to vote for but I have to vote for a party I don’t really like to try and stop this ridiculous BRIXIT lark!
It’s not the politicians we should be looking at it’s the British people that allowed this to happen.
I want my Britain back, you know, the one that actually cared!

I tried to explain the difference between "belief" and "understanding". I'm assuming you do know the difference but are choosing to argue for the sake of it. Which is getting boring really quickly. |

Piers Corbyn is an astrophysicist and Director of WeatherAction long range (months and years ahead) forecasts. He has a First class degree in Physics from Imperial College and an MSc in Astrophysics from Queen Mary College. He has published numerous peer-reviewed academic papers ranging from meteorology to cosmology and galaxy formation and has presented at many international conferences.
The mainstream media peddle the claim that 97% of (climate) scientists believe in man-made Global-Warming and that, therefore, there is no debate to be had on the subject. This is false and irrelevant. To get the 97% figure, they basically counted people who had mentioned Climate-Change in an abstract or heading of a scientific paper. Dr Legates has reviewed the work and shows that, in fact, only 0.3% of the papers claim that ‘man had caused most post-1950 warming’. Nonetheless, science isn’t about consensus, it is about facts; and no Global-Warming Inquisition is going to prevent him exposing their nonsensical theories.
Stop lapping up the propaganda. Educate yourself. |

Lol. So now people who are educated about a subject need to educate themselves. Meanwhile people ignorant about the subject should be the voices of reason.
This encapsulates everything wrong in the world today.
Feel free to believe one maniac over every scientist (who hasn't been employed by the fossil fuels industry) who has studied climate change.
And just stop for a moment. If climate change isn't real. No one is making any money from pretending it is with this epic world wide conspiracy.
If climate change is real and influenced by human actions. Then the fossil fuels industry stands to lose shit loads of money.
If you choose to remain ignorant. That's fine. If you choose to learn about th subject, that would be better. |

In the meantime when did the tobacco industry know smoking causes cancer and what was their response.
When did the fossil fuel industry know about climate change and what was their response ..

Pics or it never happened!
I can live the rest of my life without seeing a photo of a troll on the loo, and be very happy.
My only real concern is that you're this obnoxious in real life. I guess at least you're genuine. "
I am delighted you think so. I'd be alarmed if you thought else.
However, thankfully, we will never know eachother, so you will never know if your articulated misconception about me is wrong or not. |

" Dr Legates has reviewed the work and shows that, in fact, only 0.3% of the papers claim that ‘man had caused most post-1950 warming’. Nonetheless, science isn’t about consensus, it is about facts; and no Global-Warming Inquisition is going to prevent him exposing their nonsensical theories.
"Legates is a senior scientist of the Marshall Institute, a research fellow with the Independent Institute, and an adjunct scholar of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, all of which have received funding from ExxonMobil"
... the same company that invented the lithium battery. thank goodness for oil money, otherwise there wouldn't be any for research. Just like British American tobacco's contribution of millions into cancer research.
You're very naive.
He's not naive. He knows full well. He just mistakes being articulate for being intelligent.
Im not sure you qualify for either. But you do amuse me while I'm on the loo.

"Piers Corbyn is an astrophysicist and Director of WeatherAction long range (months and years ahead) forecasts.
No. That's not how the 97% statistic was derived.
Have you read any of the macro study papers or just the summaries and YouTube videos?
The absolutely most pessimistic reading of the data is 80% consensus on man made climate change.
So patently false and a conspiracy.
Have you applied the Full fact methodology to your data? Could you perhaps point us to your most credible source? You know, the peer reviewed study.
Who stands to gain from this conspiracy by the way? You haven't answered?
Is this mysterious group more or less well funded than the entire fossil fuel industry?
Rather than vagueness, how about specifics? |

Good questions, but conspiracy wonks don't care about facts or applying rigour to their fantasies, they just want the little jolt of dopamine they get from feeling they're smarter than everyone else. |
