"I won't get it, I am one of the ones that John McDonnell wants to tax so they can fund the work shy. "
Wow. How are you getting away without paying tax at the moment? Doesn't sound legal. (Assuming by your "work shy" comment means you are working). |

I am not getting away without paying tax, I pay tax currently at 40% on a part of my earnings.
Labour have openly said they want higher earners to pay more tax. My salary would take me into the higher earner bracket that Mad Dog McDonnell wants to target in his socialist utopia. |

So you are in the top 5% of earners in the UK and resent paying more tax? |

I earn less the every Doctor,Accountant and Solicitor in this country and pay my fair share at 40%. I am not rich and live a modest lifestyle, I have worked hard for over 20 years to get where I am.
Why should I not resent paying more so some loony lefties can spend it on policies I don't agree with? |

You won't pay any more unless you earn over 80k.
If you do, this puts you in the top 5% of earners in the country.
Knowing that, you still resent paying more into the public purse for hospitals, schools etc? |

Wait. Are you that guy off question time? Lol.
Part of society is about paying taxes. And we can't always choose what they get spent on. For example I would like it if we didn't spend 205 billion on trident over however many years the renewal is for.
Which "loony left" policies don't you like? Healthcare, allowance for disabled people? All seems more worthwhile than some submarines with nuclear missiles on board. |

I disagree with most of the Labour polices to be fair as they are pie in the sky spending plans with no credible means to fund them. Throwing cash at Hospitals will do little and another layer of NHS management will just be added with the extra funding as seen previously.
Offer free stuff and the students will vote for us is the Labour mantra under Comrade Corbyn too. Instead of free Broadband why not offer free heating so the elderly can live in comfort during the winter.
The Labour that I used to know that was for the working man has long since been replaced by the cult of Momentum.
With nobody on the Ballot paper at all who reflects my views and values I will choose what I see is the least damaging option and not a left wing cult. |

See amongst the nonsense you actually make a good point. If you could cut back the catchphrases and rediculous claims about "cults", "loony left", "comrade Corbyn" and all the other bollocks from the mainstream media. We could have a proper discussion about labour policy.
Maybe it would be better to increase the winter fuel allowance for pensioners, instead of the broadband plan. That seems sensible to me.
I wish there could be a reasoned debate about Labour. |

I have listened to the arguments and nothing about Labour and the people who sit on the Shadow cabinet will secure my vote.
If Labour appoint a new leader after the election then hard working voters may come back to them but not under the current leader and his cronies. |

I'm not a Labour supporter. But am considering a tactical vote for them.
One of the pros for them is how much the establishment hate Corbyn. He must be doing something right.
No one seems to be able to tell me any cons. All I get is meaningless catchphrases. |

You're welcome to think so.
I only defend him for the craic as the accusations against him get more and more outlandish.
But 100% truth. I've never voted for Labour before. And I am genuinely considering putting a tick next to my local labour candidate. And if someone wants to tell me some real, policy based reasons not to. I'm all ears. This is like the old king canute parable where everyone said he was stupid for trying to stop the tide coming in whereas his point was that the tide will always come in no matter who tries to hold it back, king or commoner which in essence is the story of Brexit foretold. History is taking place all around us and yet we are stuck in a whirlpool of stupidity dreamt up by a spite filled idiot who feeds from the table he despises and a clownish buffoon whose self belief is matched only by his inability to achieve anything worthy of a leader of the country. The macchiavellis would have seen to him in no time! |

Do you know what I love? Is when people who don't pay ANY tax look down at you for not paying enough tax as if you are the problem!
Most people don't earn more money just because a magic fairy chose them. They get more money because they invested in themselves and improved their skills. There may be exceptions but those lawyers, accountants etc worked hard to get their qualifications. They did it to have better lives for themselves not so they could pick up the tab for public services. |

No one seems to be able to tell me any cons. All I get is meaningless catchphrases.you have been saying yr not a labour supporter for weeks now mate while defending Corbyn I think yr red to the bone and always have been lol
If not, we can go back to laughing at all the people calling him a nazi and accusing him of cancelling Christmas etc.i won’t fault ya for that mate I’m labour all my life and I’m thinking of putting a tick on the torries then after brexit and Corbyn and his cranks have gone I’ll go back to labour
Fair enough.
I didn't like Blair, and his New Labour. So I wouldn't have voted for them. Since then, their leaders have come and gone and I haven't cared much either way about them.you will vote tactically like me because of brexit then only I’m doing it to leave yr doing it to remain lol see most ppl on here arnt to diffrent after all deep down most vote for what they think is best for there country
Most people don't vote for what they think is best for their country. They vote for what they think will benefit themselves personally.
Harsh world view.
In my experience, most people believe that what's best for the country, is what's best for them too.
Of course some people have narcissistic tendencies.
Personally I would be unhappy to sit on a pile of money while people around me suffered and struggled. If I ever get to the top 5% of earners in the UK (I never will), I would be happy to pay my fair share into society to help those less fortunate.
That's why our politicians are talking about how much more money individuals are going to have extra in their pocket?
It's pretty easy to be generous with money you don't have.
Not sure I understand your point. I believe that you vote for the reasons you mentioned.
But thankfully there are lots of people who do care about society. On all sides of the political spectrum."
Personally I vote in my own worst interests. I am better off with a Tory government and Brexit.
But I believe if you dangle a big enough carrot in front of an individual he will sell his own country out. |

If Labour appoint a new leader after the election then hard working voters may come back to them but not under the current leader and his cronies.

If people vote just to get "Brexit Done" knowing by now that we won't get "the easiest deal ever" then how are they voting in national interest? They are married to their own mistakes because they won't admit they were wrong. That's self interest.
BTW "Self-Interest Voter Hypothesis" (SIVH) a matter of theory and conjecture. But not MY harsh view alone. Mans greatest instinct is self preservation. |

"I disagree with most of the Labour polices to be fair as they are pie in the sky spending plans with no credible means to fund them.
I wish there could be a reasoned debate about Labour."
There will never be reasoned debates about labour . Not in the momentum era. Any reasonable policies ( of which there are some admittedly) become lost in the shit that covers everything the leadership touches. |

"I earn less the every Doctor,Accountant and Solicitor in this country and pay my fair share at 40%.
Do you know what I love? Is when people who don't pay ANY tax look down at you for not paying enough tax as if you are the problem!
Most people don't earn more money just because a magic fairy chose them. They get more money because they invested in themselves and improved their skills. There may be exceptions but those lawyers, accountants etc worked hard to get their qualifications. They did it to have better lives for themselves not so they could pick up the tab for public services. "
It's funny then, because in my experience, by and large those who work the hardest get paid the least.
Also, I'm pretty sure that your analysis that the professions (lawyers, doctors, teachers) trained to benefit only themselves is at best naive. |

In this case, it pretty much is."
No, with the amount of government waste of money the notion of personally paying more tax to go into the public purse for schools and hospitals is wishful thinking at best.
Until the waste stops and self inflicted economic self harm is halted I do object to paying more tax into the money pit of waste and will continue to find ways of reducing my tax burden as much as possible for as long as possible. |

Most polls suggest that a majority of voters agree that it would be a good idea to pay an extra 1p on income tax with the extra revenues to be spent on the NHS. Lib Dem’s have it in their manifesto and it would instantly raise an extra £7 Billion. I would support such a move. I know its raising taxes but it’s for a good cause and I would have thought a vote winner |

So right now hard working voters should vote for Tories right? Because surely the Tories know what's best for us lesser thans.
Also, to note an earlier point, heating would be covered by gas being cheaper, but hey ho, putting two and two together us a real struggle when you have a hate boner for Corbyn. |

No you don’t, I know solicitors that earn less than 30 k. I have worked hard for the last 15 years and I will gladly pay more tax to help others |

"Loony lefties" get their taxes spent on nuclear weapons, the House of Lords and the Royal Family.
Like you, they get to complain about it; like you, they have to cough up. |
