Must admit I was hoping they would put up a good show to show split the labour vote !
But as with the Brexit Party all this talk about people deserting the Two main parties looks like ?

They completely fucked it up with their revocation of Article 50 pledge. What a stupid, Crass thing that was to do. They lost all credibility.
If I was them I would be kicking themselves and their stupid leader.
Honestly it beggars belief at what was missed opportunity to be a real party of the centre left. |

The Lib Dems really did fuck up with their revoke position, didn't they? Brexit is stupid and damaging, but flat out ignoring everybody who voted for it was always going to be a bad idea.
And Swinson's voting record in gov paints her as a hypocrite. Plus many people find her unlikable. She never should have been picked as leader.
That combo of factors mean the lib dems will prob do incredibly badly at the election. |

Cobyn has been ridiculed long and loud by certain people for his Brexit position. But those people are ignoring the fact he's the only leader of the 3 main parties who's actually offering to listen to everybody. |

Seems like they self-harmed. Wrong leader. Went for what seemed like a young, new image.
Should have stayed earnest and serious, which is what they are.
The election hasn't happened yet. Is there such a thing as "shy LibDems"?
"Anyone but Boris" is a thing though. As is "Anyone but Corbyn".
Swinson is a "meh". |

That's not the story I'm getting from canvas returns. The message I'm getting is that in areas where Labour is the stronger challenge wavering Labour Remainers are going back to Labour and some LibDems are voting tactically Labour too. In those areas a lot of wavering Tory Remainers, because they're more scared of Corbyn than they are of BREXIT, are also switching away from the LibDems back to the Conservatives. However in areas where the LibDems look like the main contender the opposite is happening and both Labour and Tory Remainers are still planning on voting LibDem. Whilst the national pols paint a picture what's happening on the ground in each individual constituency is often very different.
The LibDems are not doing as well as I'd hoped but I wouldn't right them off. They could still quite easily walk away with 20 to 30 seats and it's still possible that could be closer to 50. |
