Just came up on my FB news feed about how the Daily Express has reported 2 near identical policies by Labour and the Conservatives 2 months apart so differently from each other.
Labour to raise minimum wage to £10 an hour immediately and the headline....
Labours minimum wage of £10 could cost you your job and send unemployment soaring
Conservatives to raise minimum wage to £10.50 an hour by 2024 headline....
Boris Johnson's plan to raise wages across the country receives huge boost from expert
I've no love for labour but this shows again how thick the media thinks we are and the twisting of the facts and how they report them, is it really a shining example of having a free and relatively unregulated press.

I flicked through the Sun this morning.
First time in ages - went for breakfast at a cafe in Playa del Ingles and the waiter offered me the bar copy.
Well, it was all Corbyn this, Corbyn that, none of it positive.
Johnson on the other hand got a free run.
Constant propaganda is bound to have an effect over time. |

Interesting but I don't see the cataclysmic effects you obviously do. |

I look at most of the main papers. The contrast is glaring.
The maddest and angriest are the Mail and Express. The most lefty are the Guardian and the Indy. The only one I've found that seems to be factual and unbiased is Reuters. |

The best bet is to pick up the general gist about what's going on by looking at a range of news sources. Then skip their opinions on it. And go to the source. In the OPs example, go to the Labour party and Conservative parties to see what they've actually said. And make up your own mind. |

" As your opening sentence appears to indicate that you do not read the newspaper concerned it is difficult to sèe how you are in a position to pass judgementment on it . A facebòok feed is very different to reading the newspaper itself.
In any event the press is subject to strict regulation and the readership of most newspapers would be quite capable of making their own judgement . |

i flick through most papers at some point and even a committed tory voter can recognise the constant corbyn attacks from certain papers, and at work i hear people repeating what they read in these papers without taking time to look into the comments, i think tory will end up with most mp's after the election, just a question of how many |

The problem with all the anti Corbyn bias is that the genuine criticism of him gets lost amongst the bullshit.
They cry wolf too often. Leaving people polarised. In a rediculous way.

A headline and sub headline does not require you to read newspapers on a daily basis in relation to this topic to understand how the media are conning you.
Also the Facebook feed was posting the pages from the actual news articles so your wrong again. |
