I'm not voting Tory but let's get the facts.
The Tories have never said the debt has been reduced, they only have ever claimed to have reduced the deficit. So there is no lie there.
The argument over debt and deficit is whether not putting so much effort into reducing the deficit from 2010 to 2018 would have provided a better stimulus to the economy, thus increasing tax take and therefore reducing the deficit without having to have had the austerity programme. However the maths is quite simple and if your budget is in deficit, even if that deficit is lower than it was before, your debt is going to go up. Only if your budget is in surplus will your actual debt go down.
Johnson tells enough lies, we don't need to find new ones and, in this case, there simply is no lie there any how.

Because most of the press is controlled by wealthy offshore industrialists who sow fear in change. If they were honest about how useless the Tories have actually been and the incompetence they have shown, then they might be lucky to get 50 seats!
Labour cannot be worse than these fools who have had 10 years and3 PMs to fuck the country up. We need change, not 5 more years of complete and utter uselessness!  |
