Interesting podcast on how we get played, even when we think we aren't.

The upshot is not to forward any political content from a group you disagree with, even if it looks foolish or you think it helps your own argument.

Someone will undoubtedly believe that they are too clever to be affected by this.

I'm sure several people will comment on this without listening and tell me angrily that they don't need to to have an opinion on it

I listened to it the other day. Parts of it are really quite worrying.

In a related episode, The Real Story, last Friday, was regarding the power/future of algorithms and whether or not we can trust them.

For each programme, it basically boils down to the tech being abused, to exert various forms of influence over the citizenry.

Over here, it's mainly to try and get us to buy certain stuff and persuade us to vote a certain way. In China, it's to modify your behaviour in a far more direct way.

Btw, OP, I'm beginning to wonder if we're the only people on here who listen to these sorts of radio programmes.

I don't forward anything, my opinion is my own saved for forums like this.

At a guess I'd say you forward loads of political shit because you believe absolutely in what you think?.

So in your case forwarding things good, everybody else forwarding things bad?

Am I right.

Hmmm. Am I forwarding political content from a group that I disagree with?

You are wrong.

Good reading and comprehension skills

You used the words "listen" and "radio".

Enough said, sadly.

Also, as predicted within two posts someone has already provided an opinion without having listened to the content...

You know what that guy's like. As predictable as the sunrise and never right.

The crappy boomer memes ring a bell. They're exactly the sort of stuff Trump puts out on twitter. All the time.
