Farage has said today, that he wants the UK to plant trees to fight climate change. And he wants to try to get Trump on board with his plan.
How does this sit with the science denying, hard brexit types that make up a chunk of his support? |

He is struggling to put forward anything as his whole goal was to stick it to the EU and once that has happened he has fallen flat!!
Trump does not believe in climate change so how is he interested in planting trees? Unless there’s money in it for him.

As an idea planting trees is not a bad way to help fight rising CO2. They look nice and, if done well, could also help improve biodiversity. As a the sole solution to climate change? I don't think so.

Nothing new, planting trees is a good thing. Done a huge amount of this myself in restoring hedgelines. I don't need any politicians telling me what's benificial to help nature. I have an unbundance of self seeded oaks, Ash and birch. I grow them on in pots and re plant in suitable positions. |

Except when it gets in the way of money people!
I live in BRISTOL and they have put 2 of those new electronic billboards at the junction of the m32 muller rd.
Problem was there were trees in the way so they just cut them down

Smoke and mirrors. Simple deflection. Trump pulled out of the Paris climate agreement as well as stopped much of the action in the USA to help mitigate the effects of the global heating crisis.
Farage and Trump can pull photo opportunities ad nauseum but they are both extremists who are interested in just themselves and their agenda is to suck in a few more mugs who struggle with deeper levels of thinking. |

The USA has reduced it's c02 output more than the EU,China or India and they've done it by transferring from coal to natural gas.
Bill gates (the billionaire hoarder ) has many start up companies actively looking for less polluting energy sources.
There is things we can do today to massively reduce c02 outputs if the green lobby would just stop fighting everything instead of endlessly repeating the same old mantra of its capitalism and consumerism that needs to die. |

Yeah that's why I'm wondering why he's come out with this.
His whole party is based on misinformation.
So a sudden shift to try to deal with an actual, real life problem. Seems like a strange move. Genuinely interested what his supporters make of it. Will this alienate his hardcore Brexit types? |

"Everybody loves trees .
The earth is greening anyhow due to higher c02 levels so they should grow well "
That only works when trees are in daylight. In the dark they produce co2 |

You better run along and tell that NASA study then that confirmed the earth is greener due to higher c02 in the atmosphere.
Not just a little greener either, it equated to the entire of North America extra greenness.
I love trees, knock down houses and plant trees I say

"Did you know, Jeremy Corbyn's brother is left wing and a "climate emergency" denier. "
How does that make you feel? You have distain for the "left wing". And you're also very keen on promoting the anti-science side of climate change denial. |
