So now we have Priti Patel live on camera being interviewed saying child poverty has nothing to do with the Government, at all.
If Labour were in Government I wonder if she'd think any different.
Vote Tory

"Politics is a double edged sword, if I had my 2 pence I. Sure I'd get lynched on this subject
Bobby lol"
Say what you want, that's the ldea of a forum
I in no way blame the Government entirely for child poverty or any poverty full stop BUT for a government minister to say it's nothing at all to do with the Government is wrong in my opinion.
Government policy does play into poverty on quite a significant scale. |

The government are partly to blame cutting child support payments for the amount of children but parents have to take responsibility too having children they can't afford then expecting the tax payer to pay while they sitt on there arses, the children with working parents tend to suffer the most, a society as a whole bad eating habbits and the do gooders who say children should get this and get that, and if they don't get it they are hard done too not to mention an over populating population |

Yes indeed there's plenty of reasons for child poverty but as a government minister to totally wash their hands of any culpability is quite amazing. Saying that, taking into account all the other bullshit and lies being spewed from the Conservative party, it actually isn't surprising now.
The Tory Party used to be my standard party of choice to vote for but not now. I really don't know how anyone with any self respect and decency can vote for them given how fucking stupid they're presuming we all are and the bare faced way their saying they that we are all dumb bastards to believe the lies coming from them.
If Labour didn't have Corbyn, Ronald McDonald and Abbott then I don't think we'd see a Tory government for the next decade or more. |

Government decisions and actions since the global financial crash 2008, when conservatives took power have disproportionately affected those who are poorer in society. When people have less, what may seem to be a small knock to others, can be catastrophic.
A government minister may claim more for a few days expenses than others keep a family alive on for a month or more.
Many benefit recipients are low paid employees, with employers subsistence pay being supplemented by taxpayers. With many jobs having limited security, children may be conceived during secure periods but parents take responsibility for their lives. They don't ship them to the state to care for them at a much higher cost. Planning for many years to come may be near impossible.
Abrogation of responsibility as Patel likes to do is something putting her closer to Johnson on the sociopaths scale. It does not take much intelligence to realise that of course government policies have large impacts on people's well-being, including their financial status.
Marie Antoinette may have felt in good company with Patel. Perhaps it's surprising that she didn't mention cake.
Mugs and the heartless will be amongst those voting for a bunch of people who are devoid of basic human empathy, who will not care about the harm they inflict on to others. Horrific times indeed, when such dangerous leaders draw others along into their perspectives of others being worth little. |

Apparently she was going to say that but it's still not clear whether cake will still be available after Brexit. |

for them to admit that they were the problem would actually mean they had two things vital for life,
a brain and a heart
I worry that if they are re elected then the british people will have sunk to the lowest depth of monetary greed with no compassion for anyone but themselves they may get what they ask for because you never know when that little twist of fate comes your way, ask the American who were wealthy and then had a illness and went bankrupt trying to keep alive, 500.000 went bankrupt last year because of this

Patel can say the Government isn't to blame because to people like her, if you're poor it's because you deserve it (and you're a bad person), and if you're rich it's because you deserve it (and you're a good person).
Textbook Tory. |

I have to confess this manifesto if Labour came to power would hit me hard. I'd be paying a lot more in tax.
But I'd prefer to pay double the tax I do now if it goes to building our beautiful country into a great nation and uplifting the plight of the needy. Much better than seeing my tax money spent on meaningless "Prepare for Brexit" campaigns (£100m?) and Johnson's high class call girls. |

Child poverty does not really exist,it is parents taking drugs, drinking etc that is the problem.
I live in Merseyside which they tell us has loads of child poverty.Well we have bad social problems that cause this.Yes the government must take some blame but there are many other factors, mainly drugs etc being the problem.
It would get worse under labour sadly s the parents would have more drug money etc |

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness.

Seems to me that I have met a lot of wealthy people who are taking more drugs than ever - plenty in politics and the media do - Michael Gove likes a bit of toot allegedly |
