Gove's car crash interview

Who's seen Gove's channel 4 interview on truth, lies and Brexit? It's easy to find on a certiain tube video site if you missed it.

It was astonishingly bad for him. Even better, there was a mooing cow in the background. It was as if the cow was calling out his bullshit too.

Yes, it's a Trumpian world in the Conservative Party when its spokespeople say exposure of the truth requires the truth to be concealed and distorted.

I know politicans have never had a good track record for keeping to manifestos but the Conservatives have taken it to a whole new level of simply lying to the faces of the public.

They say as example 2 + 2 = 17 and they just keep repeating the lies insinuating we're too fucking thick to understand any different, yet people are still so willing to back and vote for them.

Voting for the Tories now is accepting they lie to you and they believe you're too fucking thick in the head to even realise their doing it.

They think they can get away with it because they think the public will tolerate a crooked Conservative Party when offered the alternative of Mr Corbyn in No. 10. It's a dangerous game.

Yes, because we are one big happy family in Scotland. We agree on everything. Aye right.

I am curious if anybody at all will defend Gove's performance in that interview. He was so awful.

I loved the bit where Gove realised how badly his interview was going. He started rocking about like an angry toddler. And he desperately tried to smear the interviewer.

& he was grossly misusing polemic, the journalist was very gentle and measured! Gove didn’t seem the like the ‘L’ word (Lie) though - seemed to get stuck in his throat

You'd think he'd be more used to hearing the "L" word mentioned whenever he meets anybody.

Just watched it. Holy fuck!

He couldn't answer the question "Do you believe in telling the truth?" With a simple "Yes" - which, incidentally, doesn't even commit him to actually telling the truth.

Plus his continued assertion that a journalist independent of any political party was trying to make an argument, merely by asking the sort of questions any member of the public might ask.

What a fucking twat!

It was amazing, wasn't it?

And this is how journalists should handle all politicians who lie, mislead and waffle.

Agreed. Though I fear the likes of Nick Robinson and Justin Webb aren't up to it.

They need Paxman and Humphries back out of retirement.

Fabulous example of how low you can go.....it was the bit where Gove started saying “I used to be a journalist” that really got me.....that must have been back in his cocaine and champagne days.....what a fucking turd he is!

He managed to be patronising, arrogant and incompetent all at once. An incredible achievement, in a way.

Oh just saw this too. Personally I'd hire the guy who interviewed Gove to see how he did against other politicians. Or maybe I'd have him just follow Gove around and interview him endlessly for the hell of it.

If you want to vote for a party that brazenly treats you with contempt, that's your vhoice. Just don't expect that they will ever have any respect for you. They are now about as bad as you could ever imagine a governing party to be

Why are the LibDems worse than both of the others?

What's good about the SNP leave the UK and stay in the EU paradox?

Actually, Nick Robinson handed Gove his arse on Today.

After denying denying he'd said something multiple times, Robinson ended by stating that he had said it and he had the transcript in front of him.

Johnson was openly laughed at by the audience in the TV debate.

Perhaps they have overplayed their hand?

I don't think it matters. Enough people still seem happy to just swallow their lies.

The Gove interview still makes me laugh though.
