Again the issue Over immigration has been thrust again by the conservatives.
The conservatives saying the usual tripe, saying they will control immigration and labour are a soft touch.
They are so desperate to win votes, they push this at every election, and many in the public fall for it, except this time it’s not going to wash.
More people are realising that the conservatives peddle lies faster than champion cyclist in the Tour de France.
More people are woke, and they ain’t going to fall for it.
People are more concerned about the full ramifications of Tory cuts, Austerity, the state of the NHS, crime and local issues.
The conservatives have no answer for these, it never will, so be vigilant people don’t get detracted from the old dog whistle tactics. |

I hope the young will stay woke and the tories will die as a party but history shows that blaming the “other”,whether its through race, religion or creed is a classic way of stirring up tribalism and hatred and unfortunately it is always appealing to the emotionally driven and intellectualy challenged.  |

Why are you being so defensive?
I never mentioned the EU referendum or Leave voters or anything.
Only how the Conservative message in a General Election is designed to press the button of the Little Englander cohort.
Seems very odd indeed that YOU want to tie that cohort to Leave voters.

TBH, if you're going to attack the Conservatives on immigration wouldn't it be better to point out that, of the 300,000 odd that come each year about 250,000 are from none EU countries and only about 50,000 are from the EU. If the Conservatives really wanted to control immigration and bring it down to the 10s of thousands they could do it now without making any changes to 'free movement' at all. So why aren't they?

Because, like pretty much everything to do with BREXIT, they didn't think it through properly. They heard that Leaving the EU would stop immigrants coming here from Europe and thought that would mean a reduction in immigration. Because they don't actually think we really need the immigrants here in the first place it never really occurred to them that the immigrants from Europe would simply be replaced by immigrants from somewhere else.

Boris Johnson, speaking in Northern Ireland, last week
Contrast that with the Conservative Party narrative today, promising to end free movement from the EU and criticising Labour for seeking to keep it going.
So one part of the UK gets free movement and the Conservative leadership thinks that is "great".
Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, the Conservative Party leadership says free movement is a disaster for the UK.
Hmmmm.

What that means surely is immigration controls between NI and GB.
How can one country have free movement in one part, but not in the other, without them?
Another wall being erected by the Conservatives inside the British Isles.

Because, like pretty much everything to do with BREXIT, they didn't think it through properly. They heard that Leaving the EU would stop immigrants coming here from Europe and thought that would mean a reduction in immigration. Because they don't actually think we really need the immigrants here in the first place it never really occurred to them that the immigrants from Europe would simply be replaced by immigrants from somewhere else.

I have said what I really mean and I do really mean that immigration, like everything else to do with BREXIT hasn't really been thought through by those who supported it. What do you think I really ment? And if that's not the real immigration reason why BREXITERS voted to Leave why don't you man up, grow some balls and have the courage to tell us the real reason.
