Labour: We'll give all of you a pay rise and better housing.
Tories: We'll give the very few of you who need it a 'Get Out Of Jail Free' card for murder.
That's a pretty clear difference in priorities; and it shows how much the party that wraps itself in the flag truly values those who serve in our armed forces.
That said, promises from any government to the military, regarding the welfare of servicemen and women, have never meant anything. |

To be honest I doubt either of them are telling the truth but the get out of jail card pledge seems entirely appropriate coming from Boris - I wonder if he will extend that privilege to MPs found to have colluded with enemy states? No raking up the dirt with vexatious prosecutions sounds like it would be awfully useful to him in so many ways! |

Pleased that Tom Watson's campaign on behalf of the nuclear test veterans has found its way into the Labour manifesto, with a pledge to compensate.
Successive administrations - Conservative and Labour - have always refused to accept any sort of liability for what happened to them.
