A lot of people have expressed their admiration for Salvini in Italy and the general rise in populism so thought that you'd appreciate this excellent piece of news.
An 89 Year old Italian Senator now requires an armed guard for introducing this, truly shocking piece of legislation:
"The motion called for the establishment of an extraordinary commission in p to combat all forms of racism, anti-Semitism, incitement to hatred and violence on ethnic and religious grounds."
Crazy right. So I have a lot of sympathy for Salvini's League party and Berlusconi's Forza Italia voting against this disgusting motion.
What heroes!

Actually they abstained rather than voting against.
As that would have really exposed them for the ingrained racism and hatred of religious and ethnic groups....
Which is prevalent in all right wing political groups. |

True. They couldn't bring themselves to support it.
It would be interesting to know what their justification was.
It's very telling.
Nobody from the forum backing them up this time.
I wonder why? |

The point is tha at some point populism shows its true face.
Many people on here were willing the League to take full control of Italy for the sole reason that they thought it would help break up the EU.
Everyone knew what they really were but determinedly ignored it (or supported it) because it aligned with what they wanted.
Now nothing. |

Russian money funded a number of campaigns across Europe that were in favour of leaving the EU. The ones we know of are Italy, Spain and the UK. The other foreign entity that supports the break up of the EU is the Republican party in the USA. One for political reasons, the other for economic reasons |
