It doesn't matter who you vote for. Whatever they say in their manifestos are bollocks anyway. They'll promise you the earth and deliver a road atlas.

Probably an independent as he or she might not be tarred with any of this useless and pointless codswallop that the current lot have inflicted on us.

That would shut the fuckers up wouldn't it

Well, as our MP is Chris Williamson, currently suspended from the Labour party for alleged antisemitism, Labour have Jeremy Corbyn, the Conservative candidate's husband's company went bust a few years ago taking a lot of people's money with it (and she was also implicated at the time), the LibDems lied over student fees and are anti-Brexit, it will be Brexit Party....

If nothing else, it might shake the existing system up and bring real constitutional change..

But what then? After I voted on one single issue? What about other issues? I’m not convinced...just yet! What other things do they advocate?

For the first time ever, I'm seriously considering not voting at all.

We've proved that your vote doesn't count for anything.

And besides, they'll all come out making exuberant promises about what they'll do if they get in. Just like they did 2 years ago....

I want you to decide for yourself, there are impartial sites on the internet that can help you decide which party your views align with most.

None of them represent my views, so I turn up and express that. Don't vote for any of them as they are all equally useless and self serving.

I am feeling the same, why bother?

I've always voted and been interested in current affairs but Parliament at the moment is the worst lot in my life time.

We need a complete clear out and start again somehow??

I would like to vote for the guy who the media hates the most the guy that owes the media nothing, but I won’t.

I am going to vote liberal dems because they are the only party that can beat the conservatives down here and they wiped out the conservatives in the local elections and took control my local council.

I normally vote green but after the referendum result I vote tactically as a remainer.

Thing is, you only have a local vote.

It's like 650 local elections.

Your vote only counts locally.

Unless it happens to elect an MP.

In which case it carries forward to the next round, of electing a Government.

Tough luck if your vote doesn't elect the MP - it's discarded when it comes to a PM.

My MP, Kerry McCarthy, has a majority of 13,300.

I voted for her last time and probably will do again this time.

That was a huge mistake, as was carrying on some of the Tory policies (banking regulation relaxation!).

But on the whole, the ordinary person did better under that government than what's followed.

I fear that the anti brexit votes will be splintered between labour and lib dems giving conservatives just enough to edge it.

I'll prob be voting labour but for the first ever i am considering voting for lib dems, I'm still on the fence.

I understand that Labour (when it comes to brexit) will be campaigning for a new softer brexit but with a definite peoples vote (2nd referendum) on any deal they negotiate and/or remain.

And the lib dems are campaigning with a definite revoke of article 50.

I homestly wouldnt mind if either party got in or even form a coalition.

Anything really to not have another conservative goverment as they have proven they dont deseve another shot at governing.

I hope someome starts some kind of movement on social media trying to bring the people that are anti brexit together and all deciding together a clear chosen party to go for to stop the conservatives.

Otherwise its just gonna be everyone that wants brexit voting tory and anyome not wanting brexit splitting between two partys.

It doesnt bode well

"

Austerity was an ideological con trick.

A peculiarly European response to stress in the financial markets when governments nationalise the commercial risks.

Greece is a classic case for economic students - a government that cannot afford to pay its debt ch0kes off spending, reducing its revenue and thereby making its debts even harder to pay.

A similar thing happened here - the recovery was weaker than it otherwise would have been because the Con/Lib coalition ch0ked the very people from spending money that would have generated economic growth.

The National Debt was about £600bn when Labour left office. After less than a decade of Conservative chancellors, it is now £2 trillion.

Remind me again who is burdening the country with debt?

Austerity never was about the balancing the books. It was populism at its very worst.

Thanks for a better answer than I would have given!

However, I would not call austerity populism!

But it was certainly the opportunity the Tories had been waiting a long time for.

An excuse to dismantle as much of the societal scaffolding (that Labour had erected after the war), as they dared.

Ideologically driven, not economically driven.

I often heard the expression:

"Let's not waste a good recession"

It provided political cover for a redistribution of wealth.

Take it away from those on the lower rungs and give it away to those at the top.

People at the top hoard money, those at the bottom spend it.

The recovery was anaemic as a result.

It still is.

If you are a multi-millionaire, a CEO or director of a multinational, a large landowner or the beneficiary of an offshore tax avoidance/evasion trust then you should vote Tory.

If you are not in the above group you should vote to for whoever has the best chance of beating the Tory in your area.

I think I made my choice now,

I just cannot vote for the conservatives mainly because after 10 years, they have really fucked the country up with austerity . Now they have Boris the fake people’s champion. He’s not on my side and neither are his fellow MP’s, he has wasted public money on advertising for brexit, given money to American companies, wasted money on vanity projects in London.

I think I need to swallow the bitterest of pills and vote for labour, it’s the lesser of two evils. It’s not an full endorsement, because I know that most of their policies will be defeated in the commons. So I can take comfort in that.

So guess I am voting for the giant douche then

None of the top 3 parties. I'm done with all 3, except if an individual candidate is something different.

Also, if you want to leave, there's not much choice. CON LAB and LIB are all remain, though one is presented to us as leave. Boris won't "Get Brexit Done", Corbyn is an easily manipulated bearded turncoat, and Jo Swinson looks like a lightweight. Her husband's company could do with investigating too if it's true he's been receiving EU money.

Because I want to leave I will vote Brexit even though Boris will say "blubber Don't vote for them, you'll split the vote, vote for us and we'll get brexit done blurgh!"

They all present an image for the public, but it's behind the scenes snippets that can give better clues, which is why I heavily doubt Nigel is really a people's man standing against the elite. Shame cos I wanted to like him.

If Labour/Lib Undems form a majority, independence day is cancelled. If Boris gets one it will be cancelled thru the 'really really trying to leave' route while kicking the can down the road.

It's not so much the austerity I've had a problem with, it's the fact it's only for us.

Lets talk about vanity projects in London.

The prick mayor has two in mind.

VP1; Save the lives of cyclists by spending £40+ million on cycle lanes. Now, far be it for me to suggest most accidents involving cyclists is their own fecund stupidity, cycling on the pavements, jumping red lights, riding the wrong way down one way streets, no lights, no protective head gear.

The list goes on.....

VP2; A total ban on cars from the streets of London.

No suggestion of improvements to public transport to cope with the additional footfall, or how businesses will be inconvenienced, let alone the dozens of car parks that will now be empty and losing money hand over fist.

Not forgetting the £40+ million he spent on cycle lanes, when cyclists will now have pretty much free reign to ride wherever they choose.

The man, like many others in positions of authority, MPs etc, are totally and utterly clueless pricks.
