People's vote march

On the march now, today. It's looking pretty crowded.
On the last big march I reckoned was about 800,000 strong, most official estimates put at 700,000 and BREXITERS claimed was "only" 250,000: this one is probably twice as big. Massive turn out.

I can guess them and I'm guessing that there's more than last Summer, a lot more.

"Organisers claiming 1 million on the march.
They said that last time police said 250,000"
The police said today that it is a very inexact science calculating numbers on a match but they felt that many of the marchers at the start point would not actually be able to even reach anywhere near parliament square, which in plain English indicates quite a lot of marchers! |

I read on fb that rich stars and others with money, actually paid for 175 coaches to take people to London for the people march . Plus that is ironic considering the Reb billion people have been there complaining about the environment etc.. That could be a good episode for the new spitting image ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

Nobody said that we'd win.
We just asked for a vote based on an actual deal. Actual information.
How many people do you know? Was there a 48:52 split in their vote and is there a representative demographic and geographical spread? What's the population of the country?
Do you know what the country thinks?
There were people abusing MPs not supporting the government position as well. What point are you making? That one side is behaving worse than the other? I don't think so. |

No. You can't really fit several hundred thousand people outside Parliament.

Maybe just call it a repeat now we know the flavour of Leave and more details about the impact. Wasn't it JRM who suggested this approach a few years ago? |

if there was a second ref and it was the same result it will be ignored a second time and if it was remain by 52-48 does anyone really belive that leavers wouldnt then do what remainers have done the last three years??? personally i think its hysterical how useless the m.ps have shown emselves to be.like someone said the geanie is out the bottle no matter what happens now. half the country aint ever gona forgive the other half time to pick sides or be one of the non voters who is just watching and laughing at everyone who thinks there voice matters |

Big difference - this time people can actually see what Leave means.
All they got in 2016 was a bus and Project Fear. |

"What if we had same result again ...Will the remainders accept the result ....yes or no"
I'd accept that people who voted Leave knew what they were actually voting for; a lousy deal inferior in every way to the deal we have now.
Then I would leave the country to rot. |

The perfect split for a vote is 60/40."
No. Why should we? That's how democracy works.
The reason that it has not wafted through is because the country is split 50:50 on any given day. There is no "overwhelming" support. It doesn't require a fantasy "liberal elite" conspiracy to prevent it from happening.
It's the fact that as many people oppose it as support it and that nobody knows what "Brexit means Brexit" is three years later. |

Because by having such a big margin would allow less margin of error which no doubt those 2% was also the 60/40 is used in the banking world and it seems too work really good. |

Would have liked to have gone. I went on the regional marches. Why the resistance to a confirmatory vote? Almost like brexiteers know that the reality wouldn't win a vote in their favour ... they needed bullshit about easiest deals, holding all the cards, bankrolling the nhs with the sudden windfall etc to get it through
They might be pleasantly surprised. For me, at least with another confirmatory referendum, 'the people' if they vote brexit can't say they didn't know what they were voting for. Shame I lose out alongside them but I am getting my kids ready to emigrate so hopefully they will be financially ok. |

I am perfectly aware I am free to leave the country. One of the great things about the EU is freedom of movement which means I can (could) do this easily.
The door. So typical of a Brexiter. A barrier between countries. Exactly what brexiters want. If I (and others) leave please make sure you lock it behind us. This will keep narrow minded people like yourself who can barely form a sentence together.

"Oh I now understand ...if we have another vote remain need to get 60 % or we go and vote again then again and again until you get the result you want ...now I understand democracy....twats"
If remain had won the referendum 52:48 then, even as a remainer, I would agree with Farage's "unfinished business" comment. We should have agreed to revisit again in a few years later. It would have given the leave team time to actually work out what Leave meant. 3 years after the referendum some Leavers think that meant No Deal despite the fact that Leave campaign clearly spoke about deals..you leavers don't even agree with yourselves!
Had 60% voter for Leave, as a remainer, I would have accepted the result.
What I don't accept is an advisory referendum that could quite easily gone the other way had it been held on another day being used to determine the future of the UK especially when we all know it will take a long time (if at all) to actually benefit us. |

What's the big deal with a vote on the reality of what leave is, rather than the lies that were told about what it 'could' be. Easiest deal in history, apparently. |

You call me a plum yet don't vote and can't string a sentence together. I can barely understand your point (there was one there right?).
I explained my actions if there is another referendum and Leave still won despite knowing what Leave actually meant. That's why I am still here. |

I agree with the sentiment of your post but in any demonstration there will be people who take it a step too far.
You couldn't deny that Leave voters haven't behaved inappropriately. |

The only abuse we saw all day was some pissed woman in a union jack flag shouting abuse at a crowd of a million as they past by
Also saw half a dozen guys outside same pub shouting abuse and surrounded by a large contingent of police. They just struck us as the usual rather pathetic EDL/football hooligan types.
Didn't see the crowd abusing any politicians other than on the news
Guess they were in part at least the same politicians who have consistently used intemperate language on their side of the debate
Guess if you have a million people you will inevitably have a handful who maybe overstep the mark
We found the crowd good natured and fun without exception |

Hearing "things"? What "things"?
Several hundred thousand people make quote a lot of noise even if they're just chatting.
What important points wwre beingade to them that they needed to be silent for? Was that your expectation?
What was said that you took exception to?
What censorship has been demanded? Any examples?
Evil? How is opposing a referendum decision evil? What are remainders doing that qualifies for that particular description? |
