scrape over the line by 1 or 2 votes corbyn has no control over his m.ps and if they deselect any m.ps that vote for it them areas wont be voting at a GE. for any corbyn sycophants who are put into stand instead

Passed with amendment for further scrutiny (an extension) and preventing no deal at the end of transition.

Possibly second referendum at that point too.

Why should it not pass? Pass by 2 or 3 small minority just how brexit passed to begin with.

Seems like the Letwin bill may well pass meaning the vote doesn't really happen.

But if it does, it'll pass narrowly, in the single figures.

actually i think what this might do is if Johnson doesn't abide by the Benn Act... I think you may see a "Vote of No Confidence" coming.... with the DUP now being in the group of bedfellows....

I wasn't suggesting it had - I was suggesting it would be passed and the vote would be cancelled.

Sorry if I was spectacularly wrong on both counts...

You could tell how politically aware they were too. I'd say about half cheered when the aye vote was announced... They knew it was enough before hearing the nay tally.

Knowing that 320 or more is the required number doesn’t make them politically aware.

All that happened today is the can has been kicked down the road, industrial still unstable and more chance of a no deal. So remainers are now shooting themselves in the foot.

I won.

I have to decide between a bottle of French wine or some out-of-date chocolates made in York which people regard as British although they haven't been British for years, even though nobody could tell the difference or even cared until they were told to by certain sections of the media.

Winechocolate.

"

It's more like the Hunting of the Snark. A ship full of fools, nobody knows what the prize even looks like, and those who seek it tend to find defeat even as they grasp for victory.

Boris: "Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice: What I tell you three times is true." - spout any old gibberish enough times and the people will swallow it.

The tory party voting for Boris: "His form is ungainly—his intellect small—" (So the Bellman would often remark) "But his courage is perfect! And that, after all, Is the thing that one needs with a Snark".

Brexit economics: "Taking Three as the subject to reason about— A convenient number to state— We add Seven, and Ten, and then multiply out By One Thousand diminished by Eight. "The result we proceed to divide, as you see, By Nine Hundred and Ninety and Two: Then subtract Seventeen, and the answer must be ?Exactly and perfectly true." - just like the 350 million...

Trying to get brexit through parliament: "They sought it with thimbles, they sought it with care; They pursued it with forks and hope; They threatened its life with a railway-share; They charmed it with smiles and soap."

And the final fate of the brexit hunting PM? "In the midst of the word he was trying to say, In the midst of his laughter and glee, He had softly and suddenly vanished away— For the Snark was a Boojum, you see."

And that is the nub of the problem - when you don't know what your brexit is, you might search for a Snark, but end up with a Boojum...

You need to step down from the milk crate with the megaphone of Guardian or Indy links. The people of the the forum have shown their ability to think for themselves. They don't need pursuasion. They have already decided. You can bat those emoji eyelashes all you like, there's nothing you can do.
