I can understand politicians who are holding responsibilities for their constituents' wellbeing not always looking blissfully happy, when the government has been doing so much to impede their mandate. |

Did you know that the House of Commons fills up at 12 on a Wednesday when PMQs are on because it's televised and on the news? Giving the impression it's full like that all the time when the rest of the week you can usually count the no. of MPs on one hand in an empty chamber lol.
It just makes it look as though these people are in charge and know what they're doing (and we have a real democracy lol).
I know there's 24hr coverage, but hardly anyone watches it!
It's a shame Mr Speaker's ORRRDEEEEEHs have only really been picked up on when he's leaving.
Speaking of speakers, I was genuinely surprised to see Betty Boothroyd in the House of Lords the other day - I honestly had no idea she was still alive! Very sharp and looking good at 89. Unlike the current speaker, she does command respect whether you agree with her or not. She was calling for a second "people's vote", although I should write it "second people's vote" because she considers herself a "Yuuuropéan" (sic). |
