"Anyone feeling manacled to the shackles of the EU? "
I mean if the EU is a attractive woman who knows how to tease a restrained guy, I consent to that. But in reality no. |

Classic propaganda technique.
Create an enemy at the gates.
Denounce those who resist the great patriotic effort to defeat it.
Except we're talking about the EU, and only the most idiotic Brextremist sees it is as some dastardly plot to subjugate those brave plucky Brits.

"The inference of Johnson's statement is that the rules of the EU inhibit Britain's development.
So what rules is he planning to dump when the UK is no longer part of the EU?
"
It'll be all that red tape that "hinders" business; workers rights, environmental rules, regulations stopping them breaking the economy. That sort of thing. |

Noticed how the great patriotic “no deal” Brexit has now morphed into a “clean break” Brexit.
They got the message that the public are not on board with the no deal idea and so they changed the branding to something more palatable.
“There was no point in seeking to convert the intellectuals. For intellectuals would never be converted and anyway they would always yield to the stronger, and this would always be “the man in the street.” Arguments therefore should always be crude, clear and forcible and appeal to emotions rather than intellect. Truth is unimportant and is entirely subordinate to tactics and psychology.” |

No. The shackles are to extremists who have no interest in most people's needs, just their own power. Party leaders who are extremists who continue with their project fear, willing to close parliament down for weeks, because they don't like that it has sovereignty - after manipulating people to think that it had none. The big bad wolf - wolves ! Are UK based, they're not in Europe |
