Hi , love thought long and hard about this and would be interested to see what you all think on here good or bad , don’t mind !
My cards on the table !
1 I voted leave expecting to leave and sort deals later , still my preferred position .
2 I’m keen to have an independent England , Wales , Scotland , Northern Ireland . 4 separate country’s but stay close friends !
3 I strongly believe in percentage voting for our government The same as a referendum !
Possible Solution
A 2nd Referendum , legally binding , no long build up or campaign we all know enough now !
2 options !
Leave with or without a deal !
Stay as we are or a New Better Deal !
This way it’s fair with no splitting of the vote ! 2 positions Each .
2. A referendum at the same time on each country staying U.K. or going independent !
The idea here is that If for example Scotland voted to stay in the EU but leave the U.K. , then no probs they could leave and thier votes discounted !
Yes this could mean a change of result !
The same to apply for all 4 country’s !
The Crucial thing here is firstly to find out once and for all of any of our 4 nations could stay in the EU of not ?
Or say 2 or 3 !
This would focus the minds of the party’s and the people !
Eg the DUP would probably want to stay in the EU to keep the Union !
SNP may want to stay in the union if it’s the only way to stay in the EU !
Obviously other permutations !
Yes Bob , Cornwall can play if they like lol .
3. Vote on percentage voting for elections in the future !
Ok , have fun discuss !
I’m not saying I’m certain it will work But a genuine attempt by someone who thinks we should have left but realised things change and we are where we are ! |

Sound , maybe we could be on the right lines here then ?
I’ve always been against a second referendum but thier comes a tome when all sides have to except it’s a mess and try and sort it ! |

"The Lords is debating a new Act of Union.
A federal structure is the only way to keep the United Kingdom intact"
I’m not clear what that is ?
Happy to be informed tho ?? |

"The Lords is debating a new Act of Union.
A federal structure is the only way to keep the United Kingdom intact
Independence all the way"
I think the time really has come to sort all 3 issues , fair voting , Brexit , the U.K. ! It’s all connected .
If we tried my suggestion we could have a case of voting remain but Scotland’s votes then taken off if they have independence wich is fine !
Or it could work the other way !
But at least we won’t have one of the country’s saying they weren’t listened to !
This way we can all decide on an even field ! |

On a 2nd referendum.
I think the British "right- just you wait" attitude will give an even bigger leave percentage.
I just feel all the parties are now telling us to vote remain in a referendum(apart from the brexit party). the British have a habit of not taking
kindly to being told what to do. |

Some in the Lords recognise the UK is unsustainable.
So they are looking for a new formula to hold the UK together.

Was genuinely expecting a large response to this !
Maybe people don’t want to find s way we can all agree !
It seems that only negative posts one way or the other get attention ?
Maybe that’s the problem with all 4 of our country’s ? |

You actually voted to exit the EU with no deals in place, and sort them out later?
Thats actually a bit scary.
As for a federal UK, it's an interesting idea, its a nice idea to play about with as a thought experiment.
In my opinion it would drive innovation and competition within the UK as each country would start to compete with each other, and instead of everyone leaving to go work in London, each country would attempt to drive companies into their capital.
the downside is a place like Northern Ireland could totally fail. I cant see Scotland or Wales totally failing. |

And yes I would still go for no deal on personal choice !
But I believe in Democracy !
And I think something on the lines I’ve suggested could possibly acceptAble to all sides !

I really do think the UK currently is unsustainable.
The sense of grievance in England is palpable.
Autonomy for the 4 nations is the way forward, with a coming together on matters of common interest - defence, foreign affairs etc.
Four nations sharing a single currency, operating within fiscal rules.
The alternative to a federal structure is disintegration.
