Just imagine . . . if Johnson had got his way, we'd be spending the next six weeks watching him and his chums kissing babies, instead of getting on with all the risk-mitigation stuff needed for Brexit day.

"Boil 16,800 eggs"
I see what you did there, but I do like my boiled eggs to be over cooked.
Thus at the end of 5 weeks, less than 16,800 eggs will have been boiled.
What will happen to the unboiled eggs? Would an extension be appropriate, or would the chief egg boiler refuse to ask for an extension? |

That's just Macron doing his usual Rumpelstiltskin dance, not to be taken to seriously. If the EU sees a GE on the horizon, they give the extension, there's no doubt. |

"I had assumed , the Brexit government, would be talking to the EU daily to try and forge the super deal of the century " .
Political conferences coming up.
I can't help thinking if it was anyone but Jeremy Corbyn the political outlook would be totally different..he seems to be disliked by as many labour voters on the these threads as others |

Party Conferences. The country going down the tubes and MPs and the party faithful on their annual jolly. The Tories morphing into a nuremberg style rally, labour into a red square parade without the missiles and soldiers, and the lib dems discussing which party to support in exchange for their leader becoming deputy PM |

Quite happy to see a general election and see the tories lose control of the country and in the same vein lose another leader. |

The reality is that because of the party conference season parliament has only lost five days,it is a fuss over nothing although suspending parliament is 100% wrong in principal,a bad move I think.
We now have time to discuss the many other political issues that need to be addressed, and we will leave on the 31st of October I am sure.
It will be no deal because even if Boris came back from Brussels with a new deal parliament would knock it back so thanks to our stupid ignorant polititions we leave with no deal,Boris has the guts to go through with it.
As sir Charles Forte said today,no deal is 100 times better than a Corbyn government as that would wreck the country. |

Ha, for someone who keeps banging on about Project Fear, you don't half give it Project Fear yourself when it comes to Corbyn.

Corbyn would be terrible for the UK...
Why?
Because the media has said so often enough.
Being a member state of the European Union is terrible for the UK...
Why?
Because the media has said so often enough.

Erm , you're easily pleased and conned
They were predicting dire , and they were not quite so dire
Getting excited about one month at 0.3 growth, does not a booming economy make
