"All going to hell in a handcart I think"

His own brother and Amber Rudd in less than a week. Not forgetting the Philip Lee defection and the expulsion of 21 Ministers for doing what Johnson himself did earlier this year. Oh yes - and also losing his first three votes, control of Parliament and consequently the order of business.

What a fucking prize bell-end.

Politics is about diplomacy and consensus. Brexit is breaking everything,

And this is all that Brexiteers are left with. Yelping 'democracy' over and over about a 52-48 result in an advisory referendum three years ago, that was fought on lies.

No attempt to defend Brexit as an idea. Nothing left to spin it as a positive outcome.

Don't forget the line that another referendum (more democracy) would be the end of democracy.

As if democracy should have been abandoned in 2017 and we stick with what we've got there no matter what.

There's only one solution which is practical.

Give the people a general election, we can vote in those we want to follow though with the democratic vote, if we vote in remainers then we'll except brexit being fucked off.

It's interesting to note that if you develop a conscience, you can't be a Tory any more.

If only more of her kind would do the right thing, like she has.

She's been open about her reasons for quitting. - she states that her government doesn't seem to have an alternative negotiating option and Johnson just seems to want no deal.

That is priceless insider information that backs up what has seemingly been the case. Johnson has done nothing. Except to lie, appear incompetent and stupid.

It's good that she has exited from the inept mess. Sinking ship?

She should never have been given a position in Boris' cabinet in the first place.

Boris only offered positions to thosecwho would support his strategy. I was very surprised when she got the job as she'd was strongly in favour of remain - and was instrumental in derailing Theresa Mays efforts.

I knew she only changed her position to keep her job. She's only in it for herself and clinging on to her seat with a tiny majority.

That will be wiped out at the next election and she will lose her seat

No not that, he'll be a martyr and the average voter will never put this issue down.

Yeah she nearly lost it to labour last time so her seat might easily go to a soft leave or remain party.

Newcastle and Gateshead

its not just the fact that she resigned as a cabinet minister... she has also resigned the conservative whip!!!

the resignation letter is scathing.... its a joy to read, she rips boris to shreds

as she was "my boss" so to speak... its a shame she has left as in meeting i know some of my colleagues had with her, they said she was one of those that got her remit!

she probably wouldn't have lasted the next election... i know her seat was on a lot of "hitlists"....

No a referendum is needed for that and not a general election

Agreed. Splitting the country into divisions is not going to make anything any better. What will be the next great Brexiter thought process, suggest that all Remainers have a big letter “R” stuck on to their backs so that the true patriots can quickly spot the enemy within?

It's almost like political absolutism always makes for poor government.

Just see any hard left or right country, or a country which went through an absolutist period under a ideologically driven right/left government, to see how this can end.

Nah, the Tory membership will just view it as the fault of the remain/dealers, and the EU.

British politics on 2019:

Johnson: I don't want an election, but I keep asking for one.

Corbyn: I want an election, but I keep saying No to one.
