his brother has always been open about being a remainer.begs the question why the hell did he take a job in his brothers cabinet in the first place.its not like he has suddenly realised he wants to remain he knew exactaly his brothers stance so why bother taking the job in the first place |

Maybe he thought he could voice his remain opinions to his brother in order to balance out a deal, and then realized Boris isn't gonna do a deal, so wants nothing to do with a no-deal brexit. Who wants that beside their name in the history books. |

I think it's likely that he's somewhat more principled than Boris - it's not hard - and he didn't agree with the Brexit his brother was pushing. Likely to be coupled with the major failures his brother is having
It may have been different if it had been a more widely accepted positive progress that had been achieved by him. |
