How long until Jeremy Corbyn sees off Tory PM No 3?
Jump to: Newest in thread
"sees off" suggests some effectiveness or activity on the part of Corbyn, rather than self-destructiveness on the part of the tory leadership.
The problem for labour is that their front bench looks every bit as incompetent as the tories, which is why they are not in a strong position to take advantage of their opponents' woes. |

He's playing a blinder so far with this one.
Everyone thought Johnson would sweep up before him.
Now he's locked up in a little box and a puppet of Parliament.
Keep him dancing, Jezza!

He hasn't seen anyone off - he's outlasted them. That's good enough, though.
It's also a measure of how much Tories would rather inflict pain on each other, than deal with the least effective Leader of the Opposition since IDS.
Must be a Public School thing. |

E. Thornberry hasn't done them any favours with her QT answers tonight and if anything has just made them a laughing stock - if it wasn't already policy.
Asked by Fiona Bruce what Labours position would be if they won the election, The Thornberry in all seriousness says "we would get a deal with the EU then put it to the people in a referendum". Asked how would she vote, Thornberry says she "would vote against the deal she just negotiated".
So... not only does it put their negotiations in doubt but their credibility in carrying out Brexit.
Johnson is in the worst position in political history and Labour are saying shit you just couldn't make up. |

It sounds very different as he sounds to be proposing a re-run of the original referendum - as opposed to 1:
Remain vs Leave (1st ref)
If Leave wins then they are given a vote on:
The deal vs no deal. (2nd ref)
Tornberry/Labours position would be
Deal v's Remain (1 ref)
Where she would campaign to remain.
I wonder which way Mogg would vote on deal vs no deal.

Who cares, we've all learnt the lesson, we'll just protest every democratic decision made from now on and I'm pretty sure all the media will back us to the hilt and refer to us as democratic rebels, freedom fighters and the true champions of sovereignty!.
Wait no alas I was dreaming, they'll refer to us as terrorists, extremists, far right/left and the mentally ill because everybody knows voting how the establishment want you to vote is good, your opinionated, smart, well traveled, educated and a guardian reader, you've not been brainwashed in any way at all?. |

Jeremy Corbyn is such an ineffectual leader that last night he broke the record for most defeats inflicted on a government while in opposition. Prior to last night the record (40) was held by Margret Thatcher. One has to ask how many more than the 41, he has already inflicted on the Tories, will he manage before seeing off Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, and will the Tories put up another blustering victim for him to quietly destroy the political career of. |

" . A 2nd referendum ( either Thornberry or Mogg version ) would allow the leave winners to have full access to government data and therefore be able to use the Yellowhammer report to show the public how much of a success leaving the EU would be |

Corbyn hasn't destroyed anyone, if someone other than him had been leader of the Opposition we would have had a Labour government, the Tories are their own worst enemies at the moment and Corbyn can't even take them down...despite calling for a general election 35 times in the last 2 years he's now running scared because he knows Labour would get an absolute kicking with him in charge. |

The conservatives have been imploding due to their EU mixed conflict, for years and the referendum brought it to a more painful point. They would have been wiser to have been cooperative with other parties, making the whole process more inclusive. But, no - they insisted on starting and 'managing' it themselves. Johnson is a nasty piece of work, a lightweight, with a serious track record of failure. He should be gone asap but will insist on hanging on to the bitter end for himself and his own gains. Despite the media being so much against Corbyn, since he became the Labour leader, he's managed to outlast a rabid bunch of cons - I'm assuming Johnson is to go, before him. |

"... him in charge."
The parties in opposition have an agreed position, which is not to seek/agree an election, until a no deal exit is impossible. This is in the public domain. He will not break this agreement, however he perceives his chances, because he and the others are putting the country first. |
