By when, presumably, the Benn bill prohibiting an EU exit without agreement has Royal Assent.
Will Labour stick or twist?
Some Labour MPs want to keep Johnson stewing for a few more weeks to:
a) send him to the EU council to negotiate the withdrawal agreement he's always claimed he wanted
b) let the Brexit Party revive and gobble up the Conservative vote
c) wait until the Oct 19 deadline in the Benn Bill when, if there is no agreement, an extension must be sought.
Or do they opt for October 15, knowing that a pro-Brexit win could see the Benn Bill repealed before the EU council even meets?

I'd not be sticking to a plan imposed by Johnson, due to his inabilities to be effective at the job, telling lies or until there is absolute certainty of extension or cancellation of departure. He cannot be trusted with anything. The public has not grasped this yet |

What's the point in more voting?. They won't implement what we already voted for.
They won't give us a second referendum because there scared shitless we'll vote out again and they won't give us a general election because there scared shitless we'll vote somebody in who will.
We're not heading for dictatorship and Boris ain't the dictator because clearly we've been in it for fucking years if not decades already.
The world didn't run on reality it ran on our perception of reality and frankly nobody on either side of this debacle is now blind to this shitshow called governance. |

Yes, he kept saying he wants to get an agreement.
It used to be 1-100,000,000 on.
Parliament is just saying: "Keep your promise, go speak to Brussels and bring back something good."
Why should anyone complain?

"Parliament is just saying: "Keep your promise, go speak to Brussels and bring back something good.""
That was their first mistake, never ask Boris to keep a promise. Just ask the EU, trying to get a promise to sort the border out. He would rather start a conflict than give a promise. |

He's Parliament's bitch and it should frustrate and humiliate him in every way it can until, after a massive dose of his own medicine and being told "No", he implodes and quits.
We won't find him dead in a ditch, though. He's a fucking liar who never means anything he says. |

Who gives a shit, you carry on voting like there going to do what you want, there not, this has been proved for the years, all Johnson is doing is trying to implement a democratic vote to gain votes! And for that he's slagged off.
Next time anybody or any party gets democratically elected we all know all we have to do is waffle bollocks for three years about everybody who voted for them being stupid/bigots/manipulated/how it will ruin the country and then overturn that decision.
Surely that's the lesson we've all learnt?.
In fact if Jeremy Corbyn gets elected just threaten to bomb people and shoot his fans, that way we'll need a backstop against his governance,I mean we can't possibly elect a leftist leader because there's a section of society that will turn to terrorist violence!.

I don't understand Corbyns argument against an election.
He says he'll agree to one once his surrender vite goes through, but it's just dithering.
Here's why.
If we have an election mid October and Corbyn somehow manages to win, then he will be able to delay brexit or cancel it or whatever he wants to do that week.
Whereas if we have a mid October election wuth this new law in place and Boris is returned to Downing street with a sizeable majority, he'll be able to repeal this new law.
Corbyn has been calling for a General election every week since he lost the last one. He actually still believes he could win it too, but now he's chickenning out because presumeably someone has shown him how badly Labour have been polling.
I do, of course, understand why he might want to agree to a November election though as he somehow thinks that he'd clean up at the ballot box if Boris has been forced to ask for an extension from Brussells.
Personally, I think he's mistaken as I don't believe the electorate are that stupid and that we'll all see his durty tricjs fir what they are |

You misunderstand how Parliament works. If the opposition allow dePfeffel his GE before the 'no deal' act gains Royal Accent the bill dies and dePfeffel can set any date he likes for the GE so all he has to do is set a date after the 31st Oct and we are out with no deal by default. Also dePfeffel has said that regardless of the law he will not ask for an extension therefore Parliament can't take the chance that he will keep his word and therefore can't safely give him his GE until after the October EU leaders summit. So unless things change dramatically we are stuck in this limbo until Oct 14th or 15th. |

He just doesn't want Johnson controlling its timing.
Parliament now will decide when he can call an election.
And it looks like that will be only once the risk of UDI on October 31 has been eliminated.

Labour and the SNP both say they will not support Johnson in Monday's vote.
So he's gonna be stuck in Downing Street for the next few weeks until the oct 19 EU Council.
He'll have plenty time to clinch that "great deal" he kept talking about.

The UK will call it terrorist violence, but the EU, Ireland and the USA will call it a civil war with people fighting for democracy and freedom.
The concept might be strange to English people, but there are people on the planet who will fight with their lives for things like freedom if its taken from them.
This is why guns are legal in the USA, so if the US goverment tries to treat Texas like the UK is going to treat northern Ireland, then texas has the means to stop it happening with violence.
This is the underpinning of the greatest democracies on the planet, and its the ultimate balance and check on democracy and the thing that forces Trump not to go too far.
The distinction on who is a terrorist and who is a freedom fighter can be amazingly thin. If English people have their freedoms stripped, or if scottish people do, then they should absolutley consider a civil war. |

If he has any sense he will resign and give the Brexit turd on a golden Platter as big as a dustbin lid to the anointed one JC. he can then immerse himself in it's rich aroma, get d*unk on it's powerful stench and then realise it is just a turd all to late. QT was great this week, how strange the most dignified person on the panel was a conservative. Openly stating his respect for the SNP for sticking to their beliefs was admirable as well as being a brilliant put down to labour under Corbyn. |

Corbyn won't win outright and will rely on Plaid Cymru, SNP, Greens, the ones who skipped both parties and are basically independents, and god forbid the Lib Dems (whoring themselves to the party that gives them a seat or two at the table), to prop him up. |

The idea that a diehard Labour voter in a northern constituency is going to switch to the Conservative Party is for the birds.
The Brexit Party maybe. But the Conservative Party? No way.
Labour has calculated it will win more seats in constituencies where the Brexit Party and Conservative Party split the Brexit vote, than it loses in Labour seats where the Brexit Party eats up their majority.
That's why Labour wants to get to a position where the Conservative Party has to go to the polls after another spectacular failure to deliver Brexit.

since johnson said again last night that he would rather break the law then go to the EU for the possible extension.... there is zero chance he is now getting his early election because there is no way you could trust him not to change the date so that it stradles oct 31st...
what you are now going to probably find is that they are going to make him have to go the EU summit on october 17th/18th....
if he doesn't there is enough time to go to the supreme court and make him abide with the law
so if they make him wait till then, then the earliest you could have the election with the 5 week campaign period is going to be last week nov or 1st week december... |

Funny.
“The North” is a big beneficiary from both the United Kingdom and the European Union. That expression of getting out more than is paid in, is very apt in the north of England.
Just imagine the northern taxpayers having to actually pay around 15% more in tax just to stay where they were in an independent north, free of the shackles of the soft southern Jessie’s and rid of the dragging EU anchor, |

Labour in power? Hell in a handbasket awaits"
I have no idea.
Brexit totally jumbles up the tradition left/right bias of voters.
It happened in Scotland, where voting patterns re-aligned along Yes/No lines.
How much will voting in the UK re-align along Leave/Stay/Couldn't Care lines?
I have no idea.
But I get the impression Labour wants to fight an election on domestic policies, which would rule out a poll in October when it would all be about October 31.

I think it is completely insane to have an election that is inevitably going to revolve around a single issue - Brexit.
Elections should be about 5 year terms of office and a multitude of domestic and international issues to be progressed. Two Conservative Governments have been unable to get consensus in Parliament. Both main parties have been unable to get consensus within their own Party’s. Another election is not going to change this situation.
Brexit needs putting aside to a Royal Commission or to a cross party coalition of Brexit guardians and have it removed completely from the election manifesto’s. Better still let the people now decide what kind of Brexit they want and again - make the referendum/people’s vote or whatever it will be called ring-fenced from day to day politics.
One thing seems very, very clear to me after this last 3 years or so is that this should not. E a Party issue. It needs removing from Party manifesto’s and be dealt with separately and autonomously. |

You would say that because your in favour of remain like most MPs.
Give the people the choice to vote remainers in or brexiters in.

Labour in power? Hell in a handbasket awaits
I have no idea.
Brexit totally jumbles up the tradition left/right bias of voters.
It happened in Scotland, where voting patterns re-aligned along Yes/No lines.

Yes - that would be possible as long a you are happy to perpetuate the stupid divisions in society where people have to be labelled according to their stance on Brexit. How will that help bring the country together?
Dealing with the underlying problem with consensus is the only way to protect the country from further pointless damage. |

No.
To clear up the willingness of no deal vs no Brexit needs a referendum then once the people have decided that issue the yes a general election to sort out the next 5 years of day to day governance. |
