So if everyone on the other side of the house says they want A People's Vote and not a general election, can one of them table a motion for one and would the 21 Tory rebels vote for that against the Govt? |

No, because a democratic peoples vote would allow for voting about not just yes or no.
A peoples vote would have at least a chess boards worth of options available to vote on. |

There isn't time for a referendum before October 31.
Which reminds me of Tusk back in April urging the UK to "please don't waste this time" during the ensuing six months.

But would a general election be any quicker? They think there's time for that.
