If we do have an election pre 31st oct the only predictable rsult is a hung parliament . With this in mind who on earth asks for the extension being legislated for today .

If we have an election before Oct 31, it means Parliament will have been dissolved before prorogation kicks in and this legislation therefore evaporates. No?

and thats is why they won't agree on a general election until this goes thru....

and quite frankly because of the way that this has gone so far, would you trust this government to honour anything

anyway whoever was the legal bill writer at the Hoc was clever and a genius...

if this goes thru today there is a provision in it in that prorougeing cannot start until this bill has been given royal assent... and basically it gets round being talked out in the lords....

so the only way it could really be changed would be a law to in effect change it back...

i think Keir Starmer just confirmed Labour will not move a General Election until after October 19.

This is the date when the PM must ask for an extension to Article 50 unless he has by then obtained an agreement with the EU for the terms of departure on October 31.
