20,000 new police recruits.

"Boris announces that they are going to recruit 20.000 new police officers.
Has crime increased that much in Britain. Or are we heading for a !!!

It’s in addition to Police numbers. The recruitment for people who retire is also ongoing as norm.
It’s a good sign but it will be years before it makes a difference.
About a year for the recruitment process then two years before they pass their probation.
Now if only they hadn’t got rid of those numbers in the first place

If he follows through with this, he has plenty of form for not doing anything he says,it will pretty much bring the number of police back to 2010 levels. We have had nearly 10 years of austerity and police number have been reduced by just over 20 thousand in that time. |

The Conservative Party cuts to police funding since 2010 have reduced the number of police officers by 21,000.
Met Police ranks at their lowest now for 16 years.
A further 20,000 officers are due to retire.
Along comes Johnson, who voted for the cuts in police numbers, and says: "My job is to make your streets safer – and we are going to begin with another 20,000 police on the streets."
You do the sums.

Crazy crazy crazy. We have more police officers to maintain the control of law in society. Than we do soldiers to protect us from foreign aggressors.
Forgive my ignorance, but I know nothing about politics.
If we stay in the EU. and the EU eventually takes control of our armed forces. Police and our judicial system.
Does that mean ! The EU will pay their salaries also.
I am sure that someone on here may have that information.
If I am just being a dumb pensioner. I will voluntary put myself on a 7.00 pm curfew. |
