simple question.... how many tories will rebel against johnson tomorrow?

just put down a number... closest wins... you become king/queen of the political forum for 24hrs!

the house rises at 2.30 tomorrow... but there is foreign office questions, then followed by bojo statement on G7 and Gove statement on no deal brexit prep...

debate should start at 4pm ish... and will go on for a minimum of 3hrs....

go.........

Good luck with that assumption x

I think there are 6 for whom Johnson plus brexit's trajectory are already declared rebels regardless.

I'm going to say there are 10 more who are waiting to see what is done by the opposition to see how they can game it.

Don't know.

But my gut is split, over 3 but under 10 or over 70 but less than 180 (I think if there is a real revolt even some of those who supported BoJo in the leadership contest will desert him). It all depends on how many put their big boy and girl panties on, and whether the sight of a group of Tory former ministerial grandees crossing the floor to vote against the government causes a domino effect.

"Is abstaining counted as a vote against "

It depends which side wins the vote. But if you abstain from voting, then you have no right to complain about the outcome or consequences of that vote.

"Is abstaining counted as a vote against "

When the Government has a majority of one, the effect is basically the same - 2 abstentions and it's an away win!

Some Tory MPs will find it easier to abstain than to have to justify why they voted with Corbyn and Labour.

I think there's at least seven Conservative MPs that have publically stated that they will defy the PM.

Should one of the heavyweights such as Hammond or Gauke go that way, then that might encourage more to cross over.

Yes, Hammond basically accused Johnson of lying about his intention towards new negotiations with Brussels.

And he laid into the "entryists" now running the party - Cummings is not even a member of the party, apparently.

This is the Brexit Party, not the Conservative and Unionist Party.

Really very very wrong

71% of Constituents of Bracknell voted in 2017 - 59% voted Conservative winning with a majority of 16,000.

They now have a LibDem MP - in 2017 only 4,000 constituents voted LibDem (7.5%)

2016 Referendum - 76% turnout - 54% voted to leave.

They are now represented by an MP who has joined a party who has the policy of stopping Brexit

Democracy.... we have no democracy!

Thats a question that should be answered through the ballot box.

It is not for one individual to unilaterally take a personal decision that is in conflict with the manifesto and policy upon which they were elected to become an MP.
