Perhaps a business should consider better ways to stay and support their country rather than everything being down to profit profit profit. And I know thats what businesses are really there for, but then perhaps business is all rubbish anyway.

It worries me what will happen with Ireland. I can see it going back to the dark days of the troubles. Already there is a reemergence of terrorist groups.

Unfortunately for me the world has gone mad. Apparently we can invent an invisible border solution in 30 days and the president of the USA had a tantrum because he couldnt buy an Island.

Stop the world i want to get off.

Makes perfect sense to me. Businesses are in essence greedy entities designed to make money over all else. Re think business that works to support communities, individuals and the country as a whole not just a select few.

Will never happen as humans are greedy money machines and I cannot be convinced otherwise

"lets get the fuck out of Europe asap I didn't vote for a deal did anyone one else see that on the ballot paper cos I fucking didn't "

Neither did it have an option for creating a recession.

The campaign was for an exit via an agreed terms deal, a Northern Ireland/Ireland border that was open and respected the Good Friday peace agreement and supported trading without extra tariffs being imposed (keeping shopping affordable). A no deal exit meam you and everyone else will have to pay much more for all shopping and a recession becomes likely. Out products become dearer for EU countries, putting thousands of UK companies and jobs at risk. It's complicated because decades of business, standards and laws were developed with us central to the EU. Expecting ordinary citizens to understand enough about the whole complexity of it was inappropriate, especially as millions of peoples lives and wellbeing depends on what was concluded. Medication, including cancer treatments are now at risk - of you have a loved one who might die, the details of the way we might leave may be the most important thing right now.

We should leave, but then when things get worse, those who voted Brexit should be on the chopping block first. Oh what's that, we only have a limited supply of medicine, well according to our notes you voted for this, what's that you can't get a doctor's appointment? Well according to our notes you voted for Brexit and a huge chunk of Doctors and Nurses had to go, etc.

Let's see how fast Farage, Boris, Give, etc will care about you then.

"We should leave, but then when things get worse, those who voted Brexit should be on the chopping block first. Oh what's that, we only have a limited supply of medicine, well according to our notes you voted for this, what's that you can't get a doctor's appointment? Well according to our notes you voted for Brexit and a huge chunk of Doctors and Nurses had to go, etc.

Let's see how fast Farage, Boris, Give, etc will care about you then."

"I haven’t watched the news for a year, it’s brilliant, I haven’t a fucking clue what’s going on, I recommend it.

The world still turns doesnt it.

It does, it’s all very serious, but I haven’t noticed any difference yet.

Have you not? Job losses? Nhs losses? Euro v pound?

All of that has been happening long before all this crap.

Really ? Omg !! When a business says we are leaving due to Brexit we think mmm ok but you would have left anyway except you didn’t In the last 30 years!!!

Perhaps a business should consider better ways to stay and support their country rather than everything being down to profit profit profit. And I know thats what businesses are really there for, but then perhaps business is all rubbish anyway. "

Business makes jobs, bigger more successful businesses create even more jobs but yes fuck them off, we don't need them anyway and who the fuck needs jobs

And some people might get a shock when they discover how little of British business is owned by British capital.

You know, people for whom Rule Britannia goes in one ear and out the other.

There were only 2 questions on the ballot paper to remain or leave

The Leave campaign mentioned getting deals throughout. I assume that the 17.4m bothered to read both leave and remain literature and follow the campaigns? Then make an educated decision based on the arguments from both sides? That would of course be the logical thing to do.

Given the above, did you not for one minute prior to sticking an X in a box , not considered what LEAVE actually meant?

I saw 2 boxes on my ballot paper. 1 was to Remain. The outcome of that was clear. The other was to leave. Did I know what LEAVE actually meant? Did I hell and I absolutely guarantee that not one of the 17.4m knew what it meant. Of course, some know what they wanted it to mean but they don't speak for everyone...

"We didn't vote to leave without a deal. That wasn't the message of the campaign I helped lead"

Michael Gove - 11/03/19

There is no plan for no deal because we are going to get a great deal"

Boris Johnson - 11/07/17

I had 2 options.

Remain which I was led to believe by the remain campaign meant staying in the EU.

Leave which I was led to believe by the leave campaign meant getting a 'great' and 'easy' deal and whatever horsesh*t the leave campaign was peddling.

You might want to leave at any cost but I can guarantee that enough voted beleving in a deal to make the "WTO" lot a minority.

"

I cannot remember a single person in 2016 talking about how exciting a unilateral exit from the EU would be.

Quite the opposite.

They were supremely confident the EU would be falling over themselves to offer cake-and-eat-it terms.

Anyone who suggested otherwise was dismissed in scathing terms.

Now, when that supreme confidence turns out to have been hubris on an epic scale, do the Brexiteers:

a) accept their predictions in 2016 may have been somewhat flawed

b) re-write history to justify why No Deal was always the outcome they expected.

Answers on a postcard, please.

The ballot paper had 2 simple questions with no other detail but each option was backed up with mountains of rhetoric on each side.

None of the leave rhetoric was pushing or even talking of leaving without an agreement / deal and to say otherwise is just plain and simple lying.

No side has come out smelling or roses here.

Remain, on the whole, showed their workings and had a load of detail. Yes, their predictions were sometimes wrong (house prices) , sometimes right (sterling) and sometimes debatable (gdp lost)

But economic predictions aren't easy and sensitive to the inputs (QE)

That said, Osborne simplistic summarising of the detail was playing to the crowd.

Leave tended to make more simplistic statements (imo sensible given the wide range of interest people take in understanding issues) and many of these statements were used to suggest miss leading implications by the reader (350m, eu exports 40% to us, easiest deal etc)

No one has the moral high ground.

Each tended to put a filter on when summarising to us.

Unfortunately that's politics, and the tribal nature we have built in recent years almost makes us afraid to hold out won side to account, just attack the other side.

" could you be more specific what jobs have gone due to brexit?"

There has been numerous statements from mainly financial services companies that are or have already closed down jobs in the UK to relocate in other EU capitals.

Investment is massively down in general, and that lack of investment will have led to an equal percentage share of jobs not being created too.

"The ballot paper had 2 simple questions with no other detail but each option was backed up with mountains of rhetoric on each side.

None of the leave rhetoric was pushing or even talking of leaving without an agreement / deal and to say otherwise is just plain and simple lying.

1 simple question

Yes one overly simple question that both options we're backed up with mountains of rhetoric which went with each simple choice.

But one side has been proven to have misled, been absolutely incorrect and down right lied. One hasn't as one has historical proof staying as we are very true remain said that there would be an emergency budget, mass unemployment and house prices would dramatically fall if we dared to vote leave none of which was true.

Yet! Better those things are not true than the crap you were fed for your vote tho! I don't get why leavers are mad at remainers rather than the lying twat bags they gave their votes to! Well we have not left yet so we do not know what the outcome will be unless you can see into the future.Maybe all those remain so called experts who predicted what would happen and didn't had been right more people would be prepared to believe them now.I for one dont believe them.

You're right to take all claims with a pinch of salt. On both sides. I don't believe remain claims nor leave claims unless I can see how they get to the answer.

Mass unemployment smelt wrong.

Easiest deal ever smelt wrong.

I suspect most people more readily believe those who support their beliefs... And hold the other side to a higher bar.

Jobs already gone, jobs under threat (Vauxhall’s, JLR, etc) true could you be more specific what jobs have gone due to brexit?"

Not solely or primarily due to Brexit I agree.

But when deciding which plants to close, yes, being diesel counted against us, being a distance away from huge new markets counted against us (if you believe distance makes a difference to ability to trade)... But having a tarrif and friction free access to a huge market counted for us... And bejng able to be part of a tarriff free and fiction free supply chain counted for us... Brexit, while not being responsible for the con column took away so pro points.

Job losses are attributed to Brexit if they meet one or more of the following conditions:

1. The employer’s business has been significantly affected by sterling’s devaluation, either immediately through rises in the cost of imported inputs or later by inflation passed on by those who were so affected.

2. Government austerity cuts are attributed to Brexit since Britain voted to remain the EU, austerity would have been lifted instead of deepened.

3. Barring other obvious explanations businesses that were doing okay but experienced a significant slowdown after the Brexit vote are deemed to have been impacted by Brexit.

4. Businesses and other enterprises (e.g. EU regulatory authorities) that will be impacted by the imposition of trading or regulatory barriers (including the potential imposition of tariffs).

5. All jobs moved abroad are considered Brexit-related even if offshored outside the EU, since Brexit makes Britain a “third country” to the EU, just like India or China.

The aerospace group employs 14,000 people in Britain, including 6,000 jobs at its main wings factory at Broughton in North Wales and 3,000 at Filton, near Bristol, where wings are designed.

Chief executive Tom Enders warned in January that the firm could be forced to start shutting down UK plants and attacked Theresa’s May’s government for the prevailing state of chaos, saying: “It is a disgrace that, more than two years after the result of the 2016 referendum, businesses are still unable to plan properly for the future.”

The company announced 400 job cuts in September 2018 blaming the weakening of the pound and the euro which has made the raw materials it uses - all traded in US dollars - more expensive.

In May 2019 British Steel said it risked going into administration, putting more than 4,000 jobs on the line at its main Scunthorpe plant and three other sites, along with an estimated 20,000 in the supply chain.

The private-equity backed company said it needed £30m of government support, partly because of "Brexit-related" problems,

I see you are an avid follower of mr hickmott .I know hes a avid remainer but he does talk some crap how can he equate the fall of the pound against the euro as a brexit reason when the pound was at its present level in 2009 before brexit was even thought of.As for all the other reasons he uses to come up with for a mythical figure its no wonder brexiteers dont believe a word remainers say.If these are the type of people you choose to believe no wonder you are so depressed.

Bridgend is running down because the Ford engine being produced there is no longer required in sufficient volume, and the JLR engine is going to the new JLR engine plant at Wolverhampton.

Halewood is a JLR facility, apart from a small Ford transmission plant.

" could you be more specific what jobs have gone due to brexit?

There has been numerous statements from mainly financial services companies that are or have already closed down jobs in the UK to relocate in other EU capitals.

Investment is massively down in general, and that lack of investment will have led to an equal percentage share of jobs not being created too.

Do you need us to explain what specific means ? "

Research yourself it's easy to do online unless you're so inept at doing so
