The idea of a government of unity to sort the Brexit crisis does sound appealing, but having JC as head of it is a bitter pill to swallow for many MP’s in Westminster.
When will JC accept that he will never be leader by default?
Isn’t it time that he let’s go of his bigger ambitions and think about the supposed people he claims to support?
Do you think he should step aside and let a unity coalition develop without him?

It's all just window dressing at the moment.
When push comes to shove, they have 14 days to get their act together and send the Brextremists back to the backbenches.
Johnson keeps saying he does not think we will leave the EU without an agreement. I believe him. |

..a coalition ..we could get the brexit party who obviously want to leave and the Liberal Democrats who want to remain.. so back to square one |

2010 the calls on Gordon Brown were similar and from the same source. Anyone want to rehash the last 9 years of Tory minority rule, first with the connivence of the Lib Dems whose first act of power sharing was to allow the Tories to raise university tuition fees, which was there only cast in stone promise in the General Election. Now of course the Tories govern with the 12 DUP votes they bought with £1 BILLION of our money.
Now we have the latest Lib Dem leader pulling the same 'not with him' stunt on JC and in the process reneging on their promise to do anything to stop brexit and fucking over every person who voted Lib Dem because of that promise.
And what is this fear of JC based on? That would be that he would stop the country being run for the benefit of the top 1% and take back the railways, water, gas and electricity into public ownership, running them as 'not for profit' nationalised industries run for the benefit of the UK, rather than the present system where they are nationalised industries owned by foreign governments and run for profit that is used to benefit of their populations. |

The leader of the opposition carries responsibility, as does the opposition party. The person at the helm is important but context is all, when looking at such a major change.
There are literally just a few days left until October 31st - even fewer days that parliament would be sitting.
If stopping no deal brexit is a goal that any politician is 100% behind, they would fully commit to being behind the leader of the opposition to enable this. No ifs, no buts.
There's insufficient time to waste any of it and trying to force a change to the leader of the opposition is a diversion tactic, probably for other reasons. There's no time to mess around with games - it just has to be about having 1 goal, ie to stop a no deal brexit. Achieve that with total commitment and each party, leader and politician can prove they were acting in the national interest.
Such a clear move away from party politics is the stuff that millions of people would like. Especially as they have lost faith in them over recent years.
MPs need to show that they are speaking the truth and now is an ideal time to prove their honesty and selfless desire to serve the country and its people.

To nationalise everything we would have to leave the EU and the current back stop plan would stop it so Corbyn is better suited by no deal anyway but he is to stupid to see this.

it is is just going to be a "time limited" government... which i assume is just enough time to stop a no deal by law, and to agree an extension date with the EU....and then use the provision in the fixed term parliament act to then call a General Election, then i don't see why it has to be corbyn that has to be the figurehead.....
in fact i think corbyn is missing a trick.... because there is a really big "I am going to step aside as leader to this unity government for the greater good of this country" speech that could make him look Prime ministerial.....
or... maybe that is the plan.....
anyway... find out in about 3 weeks time..... |

The fact is this is all about parliamentary sovereignty and precedent according to all those claiming that BoJo is usurping power. But those self same people are also claiming they can ignore those same precedents that say it is for the leader of HM Opposition to attempt to form a government in the case that a government falls and the government party are unable to form another government. The hypocrisy of the situation has reached a completely new level. |

it is is just going to be a "time limited" government... which i assume is just enough time to stop a no deal by law, and to agree an extension date with the EU....and then use the provision in the fixed term parliament act to then call a General Election, then i don't see why it has to be corbyn that has to be the figurehead.....
