The main point from it was that calling the referendum was a mistake. Most people on the right, whilst not happy with the EU, were content to remain in the EU whilst out of the Single Currency and Schengen common travel area but, when presented with the question of Leave or Remain, felt in their hearts that they would rather Leave. If the question had never been asked they would have remained, as they were, adequately content with the current situation.
