Interesting.
The Duchy of Lancaster, one would expect, to be headed by the Duke of Lancaster.
Do a search for the Duke of Lancaster and you probably find a decrepit old sailing ship moored in concrete on the Flintshire coast.
Unusual name for a ship? Duke? aren't most ships named after females or in the feminine?
I agree, so who was the "Duke of Lancaster" when the "Duke of Lancaster" was launched?
