No. Their body, their choice.
I'm an Asian and I see many profiles stating no Asian males. I never think it's racist and it's a shame that people who say "No Asians or No BBC etc" have to go on and add it's not racist - just a preference.
They shouldn't have to do that. They should be free to chose who they want to meet as this is purely for enjoyment and if they aren't attracted to someone why would they do it

Have to disagree with you...if an individual does not wish to meet a particular type of person..why do they need to state a preference. .they should just not reply to that type of person..to actually state a perference involves and indicates something deeper... |

Personally, although i used to like the BBC, i feel that their programming now is not what it used to be. Netflix and Amazon Prime seem to be the way forward for entertainment, and news services via a variety of online sources.  |

Yes it could be seen as racist just as could any other racial preference as I'm guessing racists (of whatever colour) are likely to express the preference, but that's not to say the majority of people who are simply expressing a preference are racists. |

Yes it could be seen as racist just as could any other racial preference as I'm guessing racists (of whatever colour) are likely to express the preference, but that's not to say the majority of people who are simply expressing a preference are racists."
Depends why they won’t meet certain races? Unfortunately a lot of people try to hide their racism behind their ‘preferences’ .  |

Yes it could be seen as racist just as could any other racial preference as I'm guessing racists (of whatever colour) are likely to express the preference, but that's not to say the majority of people who are simply expressing a preference are racists.

i live in Pontefract and messaged a couple in wakefield (15 minutes away by car)
they claimed that i was too far away
when i asked why 15 minutes was too far away they said that i hadn't read their profile properly
when i asked what part ......
they didn't answer
had they said "sorry not for us"
that would have that but i fear that were this was pure racism  |

Only the people who go down this route can tell you for sure what their reasons are. Personally I think it's just people choosing what they like and see nothing wrong in that. Of course some might be saying no black/ white/asian because they have something against a particular race but we just don't know, unless they actually declare their racism blatantly on their profile |

Does it matter in the context of this site?
Either the lack of physical attraction or the racist inclination both mean that you can identify someone who is not compatible more easily.
As long as they are not rude, which I cannot say that I have seen on profiles as I'm confident that the moderators would not accept any such thing |

For some reason though it seems it is more acceptable for women to publicly discriminate towards BBC than it is for me to publicly declare I’m not interested in anyone who is as big as a bus, butt ugly or has a cavernous loose hole that could swallow a melon without touching the sides. |

And that is going to make a difference in people's daily life how?, so what if a woman or man said they don't find you attractive, move on, its not hard.
This could be more considered an Ego thing, Someone rejecting you before you said anything could be considered hurtful to many.

I didn't say anything about who someone should or shouldn't find attractive, I was responding to your point that racism could be discounted as the motivation of the preference.
I'm not trying to convince racists to have sex with black people or vice versa, their choice is entirely up to them but obviously racists exist in this lifestyle just as they do in the real world, no reason to deny it. |
