I thought i was scared at the prospect of Johnson being PM...
after watching that... I am genuinely scared.... that was shocking
why did johnson think he could get away with the GATT 25 para 5B stunt he pulled in the ITV debate.... you don't think Neil would have done his homework....
para 5C..... Priceless!!! |

"Boring thread, how many people bothered to watch, not many I bet"
I suspect many tory members have voted already...
Probably because bojo will deffo take us out safely. He knows all about gatt you know.
And he single handedly reduced crime in London while the rest of the world ran amok with crime.

"Boring thread, how many people bothered to watch, not many I bet" Hi. The best comment on the thread so far. How you perform on tv is irrelevant, what matters is how many votes you can pull in , and this is only relevant on the day of the election.
I am sure that Conservative party members so not need to watch a tv programme in order to make a decision. They have bettèr things to do with their lives.
Boris is a big vote puller and that is all that matters . He appeals to all culture and denominations. |

"Its tv what do you expect? of course its going to be theatre. " Just another soap opera . I would not want to waste too much of my life analysing a soap opera . As long as Boris wins everything else is irrelevant . He will appoint an outstanding tram and our exit will be a walk in the park . |

It was always going to be a hatchet job by Brillo.
....and he delivered.
Unfortunately it didn't really do either candidate a favour but it was somewhat entertaining.
Hunt....not a real entrepreneur and May in trousers.
Johnson.....an all-round knob end.
Priceless. |

Not least - 'you've never been the front man in any trade deal. Setting up a business isn't anything like what what is needed to negotiate a withdrawal agreement. You couldn't even pin Boris down on Darroch' LOL. |

"I couldn't see how either came out of this any better off which won't make a slightest difference to the overall outcome anyway. "
Pretty much this, Boris is the one that the people voting for this seem to want so he could be caught nuts deep in the most vile and illegal manner whilst sniffing in a fuck the monarchy tee shirt and it would not matter..
It's going to be interesting.. |

Quite. Either way the ERG's votes will put the Tory's / Parliament in the same position May was in. The new PM cannot shut down Parliament and they cannot deal without their support.
Though Labour and the Remain position is now growing - leaving with a deal was the previous majority opinion, so Boris really does have to deal in some way otherwise he is untenable.
Hunt doesn't have the ERG's support so his deal will really be tested. There is no way the Tory's will vote by majority for no-deal surely. |

"The Para 5C ambush..brilliant."
see this is what happens when a proper journalist does some research... i bet he had transcripts from all the hustings and the itv debate... and know all the pre-prepared lines they had used at all of them.
as soon as he said "teresa may 2.0" to hunt, and the crime stats to Johnson in the first 30 seconds of each interview, you just knew "oh boy"
hunts just about survived his interview, johnsons was god awful.... i thing if johnson has just walked off it would have been better... the questioning on sir kim, and nazanin was bad enough.... why he went down the GATT 24 5B cul-de-sac, and then try to goad Neil was something else, and to try and bluff his way out was cringeworthy
like we said... the big winners from last night were the Lib Dems, (i would have said corbyn, but him and the labour party have their own issue at the moment) |

He amuses all cultures and denominations.
That really isn't the same as them thinking he's the best person to lead them |

"I like Andrew Neil, but this is a hatchet job
Fabios right, hunt the appetiser warm up, now the main meal grilling
"
Hatchet job?
What do you mean? An interviewer should not be trying to find out what the candidates do or do not know?
There was no creative editing was there?
If they looked like idiots it was their own fault. |

Hatchet job - jump on, tear to pieces, take to pieces, take/pull apart, lay into, pitch into, hammer, slam, bash, crucify, give something a battering, roast, skewer, knock |

Hatchet job usually implies in journalism that something was done unfairly to ruin a reputation. That's why I queried it.
What you just wrote seems fair enough. |

Genuinely think Niel is the closest thing we have in the UK, to a journalist who has the ability to take his job and turn it into a combination of psychology and science. |
