Hunt was quite negative about things.. EU have said cannot renegotiate and parliament has rejected all other options.. soo no deal is the only way

YOu fail to understand what was going on,it was not a nice interlectual discussion.It was about getting through to the public and that means not going into a lot of detail,Hunt was pathetic in this regard.
Most of the things you are going on about will not affect how people would vote in as general election,you do not seem to understand what this debate was about and what a general election debate will be about.
You see Nazim,same sex marriages etc d not concern most people,they are todays news forgot tomorrow.Boris knows this he uses phycology very very well

Once elected as a leader he can fine tune the policies behind his ideas. There is little point in having answers to everything if you lack the charm and personality to draw in voters..
It is estimated that with Boris in power the Conservatives will win a general election with a majority of at least 40.
Tony Blair was extremely successfull in drawing in votes for Labour and had a great track history in winning elections . Boris will do the same for the Conservative party.. |

What was true for Johnson when he ran for London Mayor (his ability to reach parts of the electorate that other Tory's could not reach) is no longer true. Johnson was seen back then as a right of centre liberal, pragmatic, internationalist and broadly pro-EU. Now he a marmite character seen by many as putting ideological before pragmatism and himself before either. He is perceived by many as the architect of the most divisive political crisis that has befallen this country since 1945. If he gets his BREXIT and it goes badly, as I believe it invariably will, the backlash against the Tories, and Johnson in particular, will see the Conservative Party in the wilderness for a generation and possibly forever. The Conservatives can not and never have been able to win elections from an ideological hard right position and has only ever been able to gain power by appealing to the centre ground and having a pragmatic approach to the economy and business. Johnson, with his 'fuck business', is no longer seen as any of those and a Conservative Party that chooses him as their leader won't be seen as either either. |

Doesn’t matter which one wins; they’ll both lead to the breakup of the UK and I very much doubt either will be in government by the turn of the year. At least, sincerely hope not. |

Boris doesn't need a plan. He just needs to promise October 31st served in optimism. That's enough to get him to PM
His followers will fill in the gaps for him. They believe that a plan can be formulated and implemented in a few months. Just believe.
The funny thing is, while many remainers here like highlighting the holes in Boris's arguments, I suspect many may think he is the best PM not to deliver Brexit.
Im not convinced he believes in no deal. And so won't risk a hard out. Yet has the weaker idea of how to deliver a managed Brexit. From what ive seen and heard from yesterday, that view has been reinforced. |
