So, are you saying that individual countries might assert their sovereignty as in the TTIP with the USA and block it?
That's not possible is it? I mean, that would mean that the EU was not some all powerful organisation that forced poor defenceless countries to do things against their will.
You can't have it both ways.
Although cognitive dissonance does rock! |

One size isn't a perfect fit for all. Question is, how close a fit are we to the wider eu, and what is the trade off of scale versus bespokeness.
My guess is if we thought we'd be in the eu, we'd have beef farmers raising a concern as we're not that different... |

Concerns were raised by the farming unions in the UK - well before the result of the 2016 referendum |

I've already made it very clear.
If our farmers aren't happy, what have our government done to protect them?
If nothing now, why will they look after them when the USA comes knocking?
What point are you making? |

This deal is not with the USA.
Why do you have an opinion if you don't know what the topic is?
Did Canada or Japan bin their deals with the EU? |

So if we struck a trade deal we shouldn't compromise on anything that effects any industry?
No compromise "negotiation"? |

Of course compromise and negotiation are a necessity, however that becomes so much more difficult when you have 27 (possibly more to come) interests at the table.
Which is the original point of discussion (nothing to do with British farmers interests) -
Will the EU -S American deal get ratified.

It may or may not get ratified as is but, if not, they will simply keep negotiating until they get a deal both sides are happy with, unless one side draws unrealistic red lines; in which case they'll never get a deal.
