That's, apparently, one of the attractions of populism and Brexit.
So, which "populist" leaders in the UK is not public school educated and wealthy?
It would be wonderful to see if anyone directly answers the question, but I won't hold my breath  |

Even more of a surprise is that this so called Liberal Elite that the populist of both the left and the right bang on about, is currently lead by Vince Cable, who went to a state grammar school, unlike Johnston, Hunt or even Corbyn who all went to private schools.

Teresa May didn't go to a Public school....nor did Thatcher, Major or Brown.
So to twist statistics, 4 of the last 6 were not Public school educated. Blair's school was independent but not "Public" in the true sense.

Teresa May didn't go to a Public school....nor did Thatcher, Major or Brown.

So you've said that the "elite" "establishment" does not come from a particularly affluent background.
The actual question is what are the "man-of-the-people" credentials of our speculative populist leaders?
Garage, Johnson, Banks, Rice etc. |

But populism is all about taking on the elites and the establishment isn't it?
Isn't that who Farage, Banks, Widecombe, Rees-Mogg, Johnson, Gove and Tice are all tearing down the elite establishment for the food of the common man aren't they?
Oh wait, it's the global and European elites that they don't like. British ones are OK 
I do recognise certain members of the armed forces, athletes and artists as elite. In fact there are people in all walks of society who are at the very top of their professions who are also elite.
Do populists like them or not?

I dont see them fighting anyone just trying to leave the EU ,its quiet easy to understand its what the people voted for.if they are fighting anyone its the remainers who are trying to keep us in. |
