"I am a great fan of voting for 'none of the below' (I add my own box at the top of the ballot paper)."
I saw a few on the news where people had written "Brexit party" and put their X next to it. |

""all votes are equal, be it from a Lord or a Leper" "
Bit unfair. They might not appear to be the smartest kids in class, but are all Brexiteers lepers? Or are all leper’s leavers?

I wouldn't have agreed and was told to look up socrates view of giving people the vote by someone on here and have to agree. Some things shouldn't be voted on |

"I have said for years we should be voting for policies not parties or people.
"
Agree.
I had a thought once, if we embraced digital voting - we could have a system where you could go through and select the tabled party policies.
You're then given a percentage of how you align with each party. So hopefully people are a.) Actually forced to read through an abstract of a policy, not just a bullet point . B.) Hopefully they'll be able to make more empirical decisions.
It's never happen, just s thought though. |

Fully understand spoiled papers.
Folk have exercised their right to vote but have effectively voted none of the above.
Perhaps if there was a specific none of the above box we'd see less spoiled papers and actually make politicians think a bit more |

The stupidity was the reason and way it was put in front of the people.

People wanting to vote for the Brexit party in local elections...
A. The Brexit party have no manifesto for government either local or national.
B. The Brexit party has only been formed because of the one issue, Brexit.
C. Brexit has absolutely nothing to do with local elections.
D. The Brexit party currently only has one agenda and that's to fight in the European Parliament elections.
Anyone scribbling "Brexit Party" - "Farage" on their local elections ballot paper in this local election in my personal view is stupid.
I know it's a spoilt paper but people need to take their heads out of their arses from time to time and realise fucking Brexit isn't the bee all and end all of life and if they had local issues that made them want to spoil their ballot then naming that on the paper would of been a more sensible way forward. |

My post was more in context to the Brexit referendum.
Anyhow people spoiling their vote in favour of the new Farage party - you might call it stupid, I'd call it very concerning - but it shows you how badly the Tories and Labour f**ed up in the (at least) last 3 years. |

Indeed, if anything it shows how miserable Labour are doing for the opposition party to be doing so badly when we have a government that doesn't know it's arse from it's elbow |

That is a ridiculous statement, people are giving a nod to the BREXIT Party, because they are frustrated with the status quo. It doesn’t make any difference what you write if you are spoiling your ballot paper anyway. You could write “more bobbies on the streets” or something relating to potholes in the road, but that would get no publicity, and the politicians would ignore them anyway. In writing BREXIT, they are giving a clear message, and it is major news. The LibLabCon will be scared by this and rightly so.! |

It's a sign of how desparate that some leavers are if they think writing brexiton a ballot paper and spoiling it will change anything..
Being promised the moon and now realising your getting a lump of concrete from next doors path is bound to rile, but the brexit some thought they would get and the actual reality of what will emerge are as far apart as the moon and a bit of concrete..
The ability to accept reality and to assess that an look to compromise is equally as distant with some.. |

What will happen is that the BREXIT Party will win so many seats on the EU Parliament, that the mainstream will shit their knickers and begin to see reality. They will give us the BREXIT we voted for, or they will eventually be forced to. |

Maybe.
Or they may feel a one trick party will struggle to gain as much traction in a GE and first past the post means they won't be as under threat.
IMO UKIP were a more complete party when they won a large % of the GE vote. Yet didn't get the seats. I struggle to see TBP wave lasting at the level it is atm. |

They have no need to give anything other than what they can get through Parliament to put it to bed, possibly with a confirmation by the public..
And if anyone thinks other than a vote to rejoin is on the cards in the future then sorry its not happening where some extremist in the tory party tries to rewrite it, that's the end of that party if that's attempted..
Thing is the 'brexit we voted for' is such a broad area as whilst there will be a couple of similarities there are many other brexits that other people also voted for and the truth is it ain't going to happen where everyone gets their own version.

This..
It achieved under ukip what is now happening, after we've left it'll wither like ukip has now.. |
