Keep calm, britain is not leaving the eu today

OP the phrase justice and northern Ireland aren't often used in the same sentence. After decades of conflict and a tenuous peace many people there still feel wronged and that they will never see justice in their lifetime.

It's gonna make piss all difference. the UK will continue to be a tax haven for the ultra rich, public service funding will still be minimal, conservatives will continue to sell NHS contracts to private companies, to name a few.
Although we've seen a reduction in immigration from the EU this year, so the eastern european doctors helping prop up an underfunded and understaffed NHS will be even fewer. Yay!

No it is not, in this instance it means that the good friday agreement should be hounerd and also that they voted remain so should be in the eu  |

Well, England and Wales voted to leave, and Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to stay.
The EU rules allow constituent parts of a nation state to sit outside of the EU.
Think Denmark (three territories, of which only one - the mainland - is in the EU).
So the UK could remain a member state, while England and Wales opt out.
Simples!

Y2K bug was prevented though because of mass planning and agreements across the globe in getting all important things properly patched or replaced, thousands upon thousands of disks were sent out for home users too if their BIOS to be flashed if they were using a model affected by the bug, etc.

Y2K was a little strange, yes there was a lot of work done to many networks so nothing happened but there were many systems / networks that didn't have any work done on them and nothing happened either.

She lost the vote again and she said she will push it until she gets it, that is democratic according to brexiters, but then to have a peoples vote on the final deal is undemocratic, can you understand their reasoning behind that? I cant lol. |

It’s possible to use various historical scenarios, doesn’t necessarily mean UK will suffer the same outcome.

Theres fuss because we knew Brexit would be bad for the country. People voted for it anyway and its already cost the economy £40 billion.
Very little came out of Y2K, but it was dealt with and they didn't ask the population to vote on it.
Basically a completely irrelevant example. Just like the volcano scenario. |

Very little came about because the problem was foreseen a lot of work was done to avoid it.

May's transition plan failed again.
Monday is the day Parliament makes some real decisions.
Leave/Remain and if Leave, Hard/Soft, decided in a referendum after a long delay to organise it as well as European Parliamentary elections |

There's a very good reason why everything was fine with Y2K. It's because those of us who worked in the IT industry at the time worked bloody hard to make sure all the affected software was modified in time.

Actually as most PCs used a Julian day number for dates and Julian day numbers are far more easily calculated if you start your year in 1st March, the actual critical date was 1st March 2000.
Also, as most network computers usually got there date and time from the network server even if their own bios couldn't role over correctly, provided it's failure wouldn't cause it to crash and the network server had been Y2K verified, the PC would have picked up the correct date and time from the server when it connected.
Y2K was a problem but nowhere as big a problem as it was made out to be. However if nothing had been done it would have been a problem for some.
Whether BREXIT is as big a disaster as many fear or only a small disaster for some isn't really the point because BREXIT is totally avoidable and self inflicted whereas Y2K was unavoidable.
