this happened over a week ago and the bbc and other news channels only been covering it since midweek.unfortunatley its a natural disaster in a far off place and the luvvies in the media only like covering stuff if there is someone to point the finger at.isnt news worthy enough unless there is a bogeyman.i think once the water subsides the death toll will be horrific unfortunatley |

South Africa is the regional power.
I don't know the politics of the region well enough to know if they are allies or rivals  |
