He is not "allowing" anything.

It's his proposal for Theresa May as we (apparently) want to u ateralky leave an agrangement that we proposed.

Do the ERG screw NI to get their "control"? DUP might get a bit upset although they are usually pretty reasonable

The transition agreement is dead. Long live the transition agreement!

If the EU thinks it can take over the whole of by this manouver they are crackers.

Yes I am very very cynical about the EU's motives.I was allways against no deal but I am beginning to change my mind due to the nasty attitude of the EU,want out more than ever.

Some will say even if it damages the economy for a time, the answer is yes sometimes you have to take one step back to take two forward.

Nasty attitude of the EU?

I don't see any evidence of that.

What I do see is an organisation acting in the interests of countries, especially Ireland.

The UK has to look after its own interests - that is the choice of the majority.

Me thinks you are still stuck on this cake-and-eat-it mentality if you think the EU will do the UK any favours.

We've just put two fingers up to them.

It is hard to see how the EU negotiators could have been any more reasonable without failing to represent the rest of the EU properly. OK we have had one or two snide comments over the period but given the incompetence of the UK governemnt limiting themselves to these shows just how much patience they can muster.

Some people seem to think this is a negotiation of equals. It is not.

And if you think the withdrawal agreement is tough, just wait until talks on trade begin.

True. But their support is sectarian. They may possibly lose votes to the Ulster unionist party in the next elections due to their stance on brexit. The win votes by demonising other parties. Look at the demographics and you will see they will soon be overtaken by Sinn Fein. Look at the map and see the west is already green.

Intresting choice of words there 'sectarian' eh? I would've said traditionally unionist....there are some catholic votes going to the DUP also....not many but some. Not to mention a few athiest and jewish folks would vote DUP....oh and anyone who benefitted from the RHI scandal wouldn't want to kick their money horse in the bollocks.

but you have the right to use whatever words you choose....you have the right to risk offending people...not that i would be offended btw

I do agree with you,and they also want it all,as we do that is life and one of the reasons the EU cannot survive in the long run so lets get out out out

I think the trade talks will be easier to be honest because all sides agree we need to trade together so a good starting point

However. The U.K. side believe that British Exceptionslism will always carry the weight in a trade deal whereas immaterial things like populations, GDP and actual economic statistics are irrelevant.

We will get trade deals, good trade deal. The best trade deals ever - because we are British...

Think I'll go to uni and get a phb or something like that in politics, it gets more confusing by the day.

One thing I have to say is that the policatians have done interviews etc etc between rowing, rather than just stay hidden in the walls of Parliament.

We're i think most have been for the past far few years.

The GFA ( Belfast agreement states clearly) that both sides should be equal in trade deals on the island.if the uk leaves clearly there is no equality .

The EU is upholding the core decision of the Belfast agreement from a legally binding point of view
