Is the queen doing a quexit?.
Jump to: Newest in thread
Sorry but isn't this a silly question.
HMQ takes her duty to the country more seriously than many give her credit for, whether monarchist or republican.
She would never leave. She has had enough duty to abdicate in favour of her offspring but instead kept on going.
Again....I think it is a silly question. |

The history dot com website has a fascinating piece.
During the Cold War, the plan was to despatch queenie and family on the Britannia to hide on the sea lochs of North Sutherland.
The PM and most of the cabinet would go to a bunker at Bath.
Except the Home Secretary. He or she would be with the queen at sea in case Bath was atomised.

"They have secret plans prepared if it alls go wrong on the day, where would she go, to another place in the uk or europe? "
The correct story is to move her out if rioting starts to take place due to the Economy collapsing & a worst case set of events after Brexit. |

The Queen has got several luxury Royal residencies dotted around the country, she could move to any one of them at any time for any reason. |

Quite a few of which benefit greatly from CAP subsidies.
Poor queenie, how will she cope when they end?

The UK government have committed to paying UK CAP subsidies for at least 2 years after Brexit. Face it the subsidies payments were always UK taxpayers money anyway as the UK is a net contributor to the EU budget, so any money coming back to us from the EU, was money we put in the pot to begin with. In fact the EU short change us as we put more in and get less back overall.
What ever happens with the Queen's situation I'm sure she'll be fine what ever happens. |

Protectionism FTW (apparently). But it’s okay. It will be eco protectionism. |

So are you including the benefits of our economy being within the Single Market when you say we're putting more in than we get back out? or are you just working on the obvious numbers?

Accountants logic.
The highest cost is the staff so sack the staff and we balance the books.
The staff are the ones who add value and earn the income.
You seem incapable of grasping the fact that the net economic benefit of EU membership is many multiples of the money being paid for its administration.
Perhaps we should stop funding the police? After all, we just pay money out to them. We don't get a penny back |

Benefits of the single market? Is that some kind of joke? There are no benefits. I already pointed out we put more money in the pot in membership fees than we get back overall. The single market comes with many other shitty strings attached like uncontrolled mass immigration, loss of sovereignty, our domestic law courts being over-ruled by the ECJ and not being able to do our own trade deals around the rest of the world. |

Oh and I almost forgot, we're also on the hook for a share of bailout fees when other EU states get into financial difficulties, Greece being a prime example several years ago. |

False. Look-up what Cameron negotiated with the EU in 2016.
Do keep up. |

JCB manufacturing, Rocco Forte Hotels, McLaren cars, Wetherspoons pubs all agree with me.
What is your point?
There are pro EU businesses and there are businesses who would prefer we left the EU just as there are individuals who want to remain and there are individuals who want to leave. We live in a democracy and we had a vote on it, the result of the vote is to Leave. |

Cameron's renegotiated deal was shit. He thought it was a great victory but it was soundly rejected in the referendum of 2016.
Do keep up. |

What do you mean by over ruling our law courts? It’s a nice catchy phrase but I’m not sure everyone understands how EU directives, absorption into our law books, and the ECJ really work.
Interestingly a large percentage of cases bought in front of ECJ tend to be about the UK not upholding environmental directives. Eg urban water waste. Whixh I imagine don’t have a Uk equivalent to be over ruled |

Then you are a foolish man.
If you can only see negatives then you are driven by belief not thought.
We knew that. Interesting to see you spell it out so clearly. |

Your ability to ignore information and repeat your previous guff has become legend
JCB manufacturers in India and...Germany. So Brexit proofed for sales to the EU.
McLaren sell cars at a price point completely insensitive to cost. They also do not support Brexit in any way.
Wetherspoon's is a purely domestic focused business with no quality standards to maintain.
Rocco Forte Hotels also purely domestic in any given market. No cross border inputs although it will be interesting to see how staff costs and shortages start to impact their UK bottom line.
Dyson not on there anymore? Manufacturing in countries with EU trade treaties and investing more heavily in Singapore than the UK.
What a list
If the result if the vote is to leave then fine. However do it properly. That process failed from day 1 by not finding a solution that accounted for the other 48% and the coming generation who profoundly disagree with the future decided fir them.
"Get over it" has divided our country and guaranteed a mess.
However, as ever, it's someone else's fault. |

What is frictionless trade worth to the UK economy? What is the cost of all of the regulatory bodies that we will have to set up on our own? What's the cost of diverging manufacturing and quality standards?
How's your maths on that?
Mass immigration could have been controlled. We, the UK alone, chose not to. It doesn't matter if it was Blair or a chicken who took the choice. It was purely in our hands and we messed up. Our fault not the EU.
What EU laws do you not like? What EU laws has the UK government objected to? What rulings has the UK been ruled against?
You will surrender sovereignty to the WTO and any number of secret arbitration panels for bilateral trade agreements so stop feigning outrage.
We are giving up over 60 trade deals with the rest of the world. Jam tomorrow eh? |

The agreement remains in place until March 29. It excludes UK liability for eurozone bailouts.
Did you go to Trump School? Did you enjoy the lessons about repeating a lie often enough until you actually start to believe it?

As if they would ever not be encouraged/supported to move along to anywhere, should there be imminent danger. There was a vehicle that stated that £350m per week would become available for additional royal protection, on leaving the EU - you didn't think it (although it was a made up lie) would really go to the NHS |

He was also a Pro socialist anti capitalist, loads of speeches about the necessity to do away with capitalism and free the working person of is shackles(seems a few of them on here)
The only thing he didn't say apparently is what you quoted although he did run a line on the "big lie" that Hitler alluded to in his book ten years before. |
