"So, in the event of Brexit and everything gonna be okay.... what sorts of tinned foods are you stock piling? Asda do have Fray Bentos tinned pies on offer at a quid each (serves 2)." We are stockpiling holidays pre March 29th. Two already in December and one just back from in January. Still to come, one in Feb and two in March - then nothing until May when hopefully things will be resolved with some clarity.
"If you have Facebook there is a video circling about a bloke in tesco showing the veg food a selection of it is actually out of the eu.. " Have you ever actually read the labels on food? The first 2 digits of a bar code often (but not always) give a hint as to country of origin. (UK is 50) Which is why when I buy a 4 pack of Stella and the bar code beings with 50, I know the Stella I'm buying is most likely brewed next door to the Carling and Fosters. Else wise, the oval with various numbers and letters inside can give a clue as to country and even factory of manufacture. Hope that helps - doubt that it does.

It will be resolved with the same clarity as an upturned arse in a swimming pool with a humongous fart waiting to Brexit. Hope that helps.

I'm stockpiling nothing. I've booked my flights so that I will be out of the country when it hits the fan

"Cigarettes. I have a couple of thousand still from my last trip to Spain. I'm going back in a couple of weeks with an extra big suitcase. " You said smokers were good for the country's tax revenue, not so if they are buying them abroad like you!

"I have a soft spot for the Spanish treasury " They will need the extra money once we have left!

" Yes, it is a really good example of the stupidity of some leavers. He shows fresh produce from six counties, five of which we have trade deals with as part of the EU. Trade deals we are walking away from. At the end of the video he says something like “we don’t need no stinking EU”. -Matt

"I see the latest pub political broadcast to Wetherspoon customers is banging the drum for no import tariffs on anything on March 30. Food will come down in price straight-away - it’s the EU’s fault your shopping costs so much. Disaster capitalism. The sharks will be picking at the corpse of the UK for decades." It’s the idea the only thing to worry about is tarrifs that I don’t get. Costs will go up with friction. I’m not 100% sure who it was, so I not name names, but irrc a leaver here posted a YouTube clip where this was called out as a concern as much as tarriffs. But even looking at tariffs there’s a myth that the only tarrif free imports are from the Eu. Iirc MrvWrtherspoons claimed brexit will help pooerr countries as we remove protectionalism. Despite the EU having EBA in place with the poorest, whixh is essentially a one way free trade agreement.

"Your opinion is at odds with reality - Britain is not self-sufficient in food. You'll have to cut your consumption by 50 per cent to survive on your new Brexit diet. " You base that on things remaining the same after Brexit though, which they won't be. If we leave the EU's common fisheries policy on March 29th, and EU boats don't fish our waters and UK fishermen catch bigger quotas, but as remainers say the EU refuse to buy that fish from us, there will be a lot more UK caught fish on UK shelves because it won't be exported to the EU. The same applies for other UK produced food stuffs like British beef, Lamb and potatoes if it's not being exported to the EU then it'll be going on UK shelves instead.

"There are one or two flaws in your post. Presumably, you eat meat and fish. So you think everyone else should eat meat and fish. It is a feature of your posts - your consistent inability to relate to the needs of anyone else, except your own. For the rest of the flaws, just look up any organisation that knows anything about food production and trade. And no, I do not consider the editor of Wetherspoons Weekly News as someone who knows what they are talking about. " Why wouldn't Wetherspoons know about it? Providing food and drink is the very essence of their business. They've already dropped many EU products for products from the rest of the world, and still manage to provide a cheaper service than most other pubs in the market.

Wanting to eat/drink things from another country is not ‘snobbish and pretentious’. In fact it is actually a necessity coming up as you fully know we don’t produce enough food ourselves. -Matt -Matt

Does the UK produce all fruit and veg ? " We’re net importers here. The only thing we’re net exporters of is beverages. We also tend to import large volumes of animal feed. So even if the animal is british, it’s reliant on the EU. And the final twist to self sufficiency is labour. I think c 40% of food comes from Eu or countries which have an Eu trade deal. 50% is homegrown. So we would need to bump up production. And that requires farmhands. Who are often Eu migrants we no longer want.

"I am not stockpiling anything, but I am a bit concerned about friends and family who need medication and really hope that there isn't a problem if we leave with no deal , ,, , There is a way that those who voted leave could help though ,,, if you wrote to your doctor/ chemist explained that you voted leave and say that you are therefore prepared to go to the back of the queue if there is a shortage " I voted Leave and I'm not on any medication at all so i'm not using up any supplies. I don't smoke, try to eat healthy and get regular exercise, maybe if other people in the country were more health conscious we'd have a more healthy society overall. Besides, the government has made no deal planning to ensure continuity of medical supplies regardless.

The governments planning for medicines in fear of a no deal will I am sure involve stockpiling tablets which will cost the NHS ( perhaps the money could come out of the weekly £350 million ???) ,, brilliant point though about us all eating healthily , not smoking and taking exercise to avoid being a burden on the NHS , I am the same as you and am ( luckily ) not on medication at the moment ,, but I know people who are ill , through no fault of their own , just the fragility of the human body and I wouldn't want them to suffer,,, my point was ,, would it be fair if you voted leave , wanted a no deal , were partly responsible for any shortage , that you got the tablets before someone else ,,,,, after all remember that our own prime minister does not approve of queue jumpers ,,,,

Of course you won't you will be saying "I knew it would be alright while " while thinking to yourself why did I believe all that crap!
