Forget comparing against Mays deal, would you say a no deal is the best version of brexit we can get, or is there a possibility of a better version still out there ?

Bristol East

It’s a version of Brexit.

Completely rubbished by the Leave campaign as Project Fear.

Now there appear to be some sat in their Union flag underpants masturbating at the thought.

No Deal is the worst possible outcome. It isolates the country from its neighbours, severs 40 years of ties overnight and erects barriers that will, I suspect, take decades to overcome.

You ask if no deal is the best version of Brexit....

What "version" of Brexit do you want to compare a no deal crash out too?

That's the whole bloody problem with Brexshit, there is no version that "on paper" any sane / balanced person could say "yes the country will be better off all round with a Brexit"

The only Brexshit worth anything is a Brexit that causes as little economic harm to the people & country.

Brexit is just a damage limitation exercise, that's why we're in this limbo, our PM is trying to give a Brexit that causes the least economic trauma to the country.

Mostly she's trying to get a version of Brexit that a) keeps her in a job b) keeps Labour out and c) doesnt split the Tory Party. The problem is that she is incompetent, Labour aren't quite as shamblic as the Tories and her party includes at least 80 raving headcases. It won't end well

You're right though, there's no version of Brexit that won't be a complete clusterfuck

I do think there are Brexit options that won't be a complete clusterfuck but I don't think many of the 17.4 million would class it as Brexit lol

There is a reason that not a single member of the WTO operates on WTO rules only. WTO rules are shit!

It is looking more and more likely that come 2300 on March 29 we will be the only country in the world that does not have a single 'free trade' agreement in place. More to the point because of our membership of the EU we surrendered our WTO trade schedule and adopted the EU trade schedule so when we leave the EU with or without a deal with the EU schedule is the one we have to work to and we are going to see an immediate in imported food prices of around 14% unless we remove all trade barriers which is going to fuck over nearly every UK business in all likelihood. (That by the way is a big part of the reason why so many big businesses, that have the option) (the ones who can afford to employ experts to predict how economic and legal changes will effect their businesses), are fucking off or making plans to fuck off as the shit hits the fan!

Im not asking if WTO is good, or that any brexit is better than remaining. Loads of threads out there on that.

I’m asking (and ideally leavers would be replying) whether no deal is the best (realistic) brexit option we can be looking at, and if not, what does a better brexit look like (again, one that looks achievable).

I answered. I even pointed out that we don't get our own WTO deal, but ho hum...

Lets see if this works better...

How can anything that the rest of the world is dumped as fast as it could be the best option for us?
