So far, whenever I've raised my objections to the EU project, the only argument that supposedly left wing people have given me (although most have simply decided I'm either stupid or racist and haven't offered one) is that the EU is preferable to the Tories.
If both are neoliberalist, surely this is some interesting doublethink?
I've posted a short excerpt of Yannis Varoufakis talking to Noam Chomsky. The full interview is an hour and a half and well worth a watch.

Not internationalism, but globalism. The EU is a globalist neoliberal project. Right wing Brexit is really market men using a thinly veiled nationalism to exploit uncertainty in the markets.
BREXIT is used by both as a "shock doctrine" to distract people from further cuts.
The EU project is just not compatible with socialism.
Doesn't the power of the Euro Group terrify people? |

I like Chomsky so when I have the time I will watch the full interview..
I think brexit can only fail in this day and age just like communism doesn't work when everyone else is capitalist.
Isolated flag waving nationalist states have no place in a global economy.
