It's hard to believe that the kind of semi-literate, mouth breather that voted leave is allowed the vote at all. Then you remember that people keep voting for Diane Abbott, and you realise left or right, leave or remain. We're fucked. |

I said the same thing last week with the no confidence vote. This didn't only show 320 votes for the May, but 302 votes supporting Corbyn and his inability for 2.5yrs to refute anti semitism and on.

Here's a question.... why are many people who are openly or not so openly but obviously a bit racist/islamaphobic using Corbyn's anti-Semitism as a stick to bash him with?

Le-me see, he's head of a party that fails to sack Livingstone, that has had complaints raised against it's members from MP's and the public .. I am not going to go on but the head hasn't acted in quashing it. He has done more U-turns than May. I was commenting on the OP's post that we are all fucked, if MP's in a confidence vote, can back him given until last week Labour have been less than clear in a Brexit plan. |

I'm neither right or left, but May's deal must be terrible if Corbyn could lose a confidence motion by only 20 or so votes. If he'd had a Brexit plan, just imagine what could have been! If it weren't for those resigning from his party for reasons unknown? |

The standard distraction technique?
They also swear blind that they are neither Islamaphobic nor racist. They appear to actually believe this themselves so there is no internal contradiction however it looks to everyone else. |

The distraction technique used when there are so many reports and eventual Police probe you mean?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-46070229
I suppose it is one of those rightist Police chiefs doing the investigation having an internal contradiction with the evidence presented to her no doubt.
You have both missed my point in your accusatory political bias. The OP made the point 'we're all fucked' and included both Abbott and fire breathing leavers.. so people from both sides. If you'd have gotten your act together you'd have been in Government (that is if you wanted to) by now. Yes, that is me putting an easy dig in.

when Jewish Labour MP's need personal body guards to go to the Labour party Conference it's plain to see Labour have a serious problem with anti semitism. |

Perhaps you should address this to someone else?
I'm not denying that Labour may or may not have a specific problem with anti-Semitism to a greater or lesser extent than the Conservative party may do. They certainly have a problem with their approach to Israel that they need to resolve.
I'm not particularly a Labour supporter either.
That doesn't mean that all Asian or Muslim men are such a risk to (white) women and children that they are a specific immigration problem or that British born Asians should be treated differently.
You've just made a mighty big assumption that because I think that the wider threat of grooming rings is a part of Leave project fear that I would defend "the left" without question. |

Very true, nobody can argue against that but the Billions pumped into the pot by the Bank of England steadied the ship a lot unless you want to argue against that.
We weren't told the Brexit vote would cost the UK 500 Million a week either...
We weren't told we'd have Billions of capital fly from the City of London on top of that...

The £39 billion (and more) will be paid
Plus the Govt will have spent £5 billion since the referendum on general Brexit issues
Plus the Govt has allocated £5 billion on “no deal” planning.
Plus the economy is already £500 million a week worse off than it would have been had we not voted for Brexit.
For what?????? |

Like Costa said earlier you shouldn't believe everything you hear or read.
The reality is the UK attracted more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) than any other country in Europe in the first 6 months of 2018. On a global level we came 2nd for Foreign direct investment, only China attracted more FDI globally than the UK.
The figures come from the United Nations conference on trade and development (Unctad), showed the UK attracted $65.5 billion worth of foreign direct investment in the first half of 2018, which was 2nd only to China on $70 billion worth of FDI.
London was also named Tech investment Capital in 2017 and attracted more tech investment than Dublin, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin put together. All this happened after the vote to leave the EU in June 2016. |

My point is balance, yes we didn't have an emergency budget but we did have billions injected by the BOE instead.

"More fake news.
Every member state pays into the EU budget."
Not on an equal basis though. Some pay in more than they get back, these are called net contributors to the EU budget and the UK falls into this category. Others pay in less and get back more than they pay in the first place, the poorer EU members usually fall into this category. |

Every country pays in.
Someone above said most paid "naff all".
That was fake news.
The size of the contribution is determined by the size of a country's economy, how much VAT it collects and how much it collects in duty from transactions with the rest the world.
Those contributions buy each country a ticket to the single market and eligibility to the various EU programmes.
How much is the single market worth to a country's economy?
If you did not know the answer before, you will soon. |

If we leave with May's deal then we pay a £39 billion divorce bill to settle our account. However if we leave with no deal we're not legally obliged to pay the EU a single penny according to a House of Lords report. This would put the EU up shit Creek without a paddle and they'd be asking other net contributors like Germany and France to stump up more cash in increased membership fees. |
