isn’t time that politicians unify on Brexit,
The People want bridges, the fools want borders.
All across these countries, people are getting tired.
Tired of the adversarial nature of the political establishment.
Petty political point scoring underlying PM questions on a Wednesday, highlight the unending mob mentality of our representatives.
I see a change, when idelogical differences are put aside for solutions to the greatest constitutional crisis of our generation.
The leaders of the parties are weak, they brandish a whip which those members who attempt to form consensus are ruthlessly tamed to follow the old lines of faithfulness.
The voices of disunity are being silenced and rightly so, not by the will of the government of the day. But the collective effort of the people of this great nation.
So I ask you, would you put aside your differences, and work together for the good of the entire nation?
These two years have shown that the old 20th century view of politics is crumbling. As the 21st Century continues, there are challenges which our ancestors, did not face.
I am not saying one way is the right way. I wish I have all the answers, but I do not.
But the ideas of the 21st century cannot be viewed of the lens of the 20th century.
Think about it.

Good post Op but for some being still able to say we won, you lost shut up is still the level at which they operate..
Others not on here have pushed the divisions for their own aims, well maybe a bid to take the country back to the 50s.. |

"I am afraid the chaos is only just beginning xSTOP being so negative,we will get through this I promise you"
But at what cost? How many billions will this farce cost us all? Keep calm and carry on is probably how you see it, which is fine if you want to let the freedom, peace and prosperity of the last few years go but personally i see the future as a hard and ruthless place now with no sympathy or prospects for the lowest levels of our society and very little opportunity for the hard working poor to improve their lot. Its going to be medieval with grace and favour (ie corruption ruling the land) but then hey maybe you dont care and so i am wasting my breath on you. |

Great thread title
The real politics of consciousness starts with the media. Look at the typical small minded brexit buying fool who really just wanted a pop at the establishment - spun a yarn and then hung out to dry.
Until the flaws of humanity (fear, greed, a litany of biases, sociopathy) are designed out of how we govern ourselves it will stay the same.
A popularity contest based on who has the the smuggest poster face and tells the best lies of your doorstep - are you serious?

And then also look at the smallminded scaremongering and lies believing remainer..... |

Well that appeal to consider work working together didn't get that many steps did it?
I suggested this two years ago but was gloatingly told I'd lost and to get over it. That's not changed .
Search for the first "cognitive bias" thread and you can see the response.
If people don't want to question their own views or empathise with others you create division. |

What's held up Brexit is not the issues you are referring to op. Brexit has been 100% implemented and managed by the conservative party. Everyone else is waiting to vote on the deal that the conservatives have negotiated. You may have noticed that they hadn't made a clear decision on what they wanted and have spent most of the 2 years of article 50 disagreeing amongst themselves. Their lack of commitment to a clear outcome has delayed everything, wasted time and jeopardized the UKs prosperity. There are only so many times that you can give positive words of encouragement, as an MP answerable to constituent, before it's time to be critical. The other parties wanted to be involved in Brexit but the conservatives insisted on doing it alone. It's their mess and reflects the years that the party has been in conflict on the inside, upon Europe. In general I think others have been fairly restrained on it.
There are issues of where the place seems to have public schoolboys behaving as if they were still at school |

Sadly you cannot change human nature and there seems to be a lack of strong leaders around right now and social media is changing the way people think about things and causes disunity and not unity.
Self publicity is crucial these days so polititions look for an angle to promote themselves and therefore nobody is looking for harmony.
They all fiddle while all around them burns down very sad. |

Human nature also causes the low resolution views that drive populism. |

I disagree. There seem to be too many "strong leaders" around offering easy answers to complex problems by finding someone else to blame for them and creating fear and division.
Trump, Putin, Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un, Erdogan, Bolsonaro, Orban... |

The leader isn't the problem....the public get the politicians they deserve.
Attack the low resolution "solutions" and the people who propagate them. |

I think you missed the point.
More worryingly, perhaps you didn't get the point |
