Brexit deal as we are at an empass with the deal and no one can agree instead of another referendum. Would a citizen jury work. What are your thoughts x

I think the first argument, that would probably take more time than we've got, would be how would this jury be selected?

Bristol East

A special edition of X Factor might work.

How would the jury be selected, who & how would you select the experts to give opposing views / information.

Might as well just toss a coin. Just like the referendum result, it's going to be 50/50.

But knowing our luck, it would come down on the edge!

Maybe a referendum where it is mandatory to vote (those entitled to vote), so we have 100% turnout? I know it's a tall order, but people died to get the vote, and now there is such apathy to vote, it should be a legal requirement.

Parliament has the mandate, let them sort it..

Peoples juries may work OK but as said time is of the essence and having this issue decided by one let's the lower house members off the hook..

Voting in general is a joke.

You vote for a parties manifesto only to watch them then chuck the damn thing in the bin once they get into power.

That's the real travesty from people dying to enable us to have the right to vote.

The problems with the politicians, not the people.

Can we get David Dimbleby to sort it all out for us? I think he’s the only person I would trust to give an honest opinion

Social Darwinism. Make people compete to the death, fail question, be neutralised, fail a test of physical endurance, neutralised. You have to succeed at both to be in the jury. Only the ambitious and competent will bother and succeed.

I of course joke.

Agree.

And make it clear that if people are not happy with what's on the ballot, (ie pissed off leavers or remainers) then mass boycotts will be seen as the citizen giving up their vote.

You want a day in decision making, do what we all do and do you best with the cards dealt.
