1700 people died in car crashes in the UK in 2015.

Worldwide, it is in the millions every year.

We obsess about terrorism because we allow it obsess us.

Terrorism is the tactic of groups too feeble to actually attack a state.

So they resort to low-tech, sporadic crimes.

The media does their job by reporting it in a way out of all proportion to the actuality.

Two dead in a car crash on the M5?

Probably won't even make the national news.

Two dead in a machete attack outside Parliament?

Schedules are wiped and we getting rolling coverage 24/7.

"Should I be more afraid of; cars, stairs or terrorists?"

Well from what I remember from public information films, what you should really be looking out for is not swimming in reservoirs, climbing into old fridges and not putting rugs down on highly polished wooden floors in hallways.

Terrorism is a deliberate act.

Most car accidents are not.

Should I be more scared of a deliberate attack if I'm in far more danger from the accident?

Eating too much sugar is a deliberate act too of which people have direct control...

According to a public health report released last month (latest of many world wide with similar results) vehicle pollution causes at least 1500 avoidable deaths in the Greater Manchester connovation annually. Not heard of any reports of cows killing hundreds in Manchester lately (or ever).

Calling them "groups" is probably over selling it also.

Most of our (recent) domestic terrorism has been carried out by people with very loose (if any) connections to the "groups" they claim to be acting in the name of.
